Sold my MJ few years ago. Was at the junkyard and came accross a prettty clean longbed. Decded it would make a bittchin trailer. Anyone have pictures of one done up? Also looking for a set of taillights.
-
ROFLMAO thats the best ive seen in a while. Like the newer ford 3/4 and 1 tons, but other than that I'm all set. I hate my ford, POS ranger. Went smelt fishing last night, 20 minutes of highway and the carb'd 2.0 was TO THE FLOOR the WHOLE way. We never broke 75mph. By to the floor, i mean i NEVER let up. What a worthless truck.
-
No way, thsi ranger is JUNK. 50k, which would be good if.... I ran good There was a no rusted body panel on it It was a CARBED 2.0 It had power steering It had power brakes It wasnt a ford

Well, not sure if it was, but it sometimes feels like it. I bought my 90 MJ for $900, dumped tons of money into it, and made it a really cool truck. I loved that truck. Sold it for a 1995 Firebird, wrecked that and ended up with a 88 ranger as a beater. Well, as it sits now, i want my MJ back. I just came on here to get the contact info on the guy i sold my MJ to and, he traded it, LAST WEEK. I don't nessesarily want mine back, since it was starting to rot. But nothing come close to it, S10s are lame, rangers are worse.

sold for $200, but what honestly could you use off it? The tail lights? Theres no body left.

Hey! Thats my site!!! Lol, did know anyone even looked at that. Any suggestions on it ?
-
is that angle? Any pics mounted?

Anyone have a drawing of one, I'm sure one of you made your own. Not sure how to make mine so looking to see what others have done.

The switchs are pretty simple, black is ground, the others are just power, if the light stays on all the time, swap your power wires. I have the factory switches running my reverse lights and my rollbar lights with no relays. Fused, and the switches seem to handle it no problem. Just a FYI

I bored my Renix TB also, but I used a Ford Explorer butterfly, worked almost perfect. Had to move the holes a bit but it worked. Definate improvement in High rpm, low revs didnt seem to help too much, but at 4500 to 5000K it revs much easier.

Yeah, the 2wds have the hub there for the wheel bearing. I'm sure you could make some spacers depending on how far out it sticks. -
When I bought my 90 MJ, I knew it was WAY too low. So I bought some spacers and called it a day. Later the sagging @$$ really bugged me, so a s-10 main when in and leveled it out. Then once again, I realized that my 225s were getting worn, and need a replacement. I was going to go with some 235 at's then found a killer deal on a set of 31" MT/r's Then the rollbar, brushguard, lights, bored renix tb, exhuast, airfilter, stereo, toolbox, soon to be rear bumper, and now my Full carrier detroit is on the way. So much for a coupel a/ts and taking it easy.
-
Well, contrary to what everyone has said. I bought a full detroit for my D35. Its brand new off ebay. If it doesnt work out, the locker can go back on ebay and ill get almost all my money back.
-
I have 4.10s in mine, so the carrier wouldnt help me at all. Thanks anyway!

Realisticly, if this faced you tomarrow. I don't make a lot of money, ($130 a week, I'm 17 working at a pizza place) My insurance is $70 a month. Right now I have $550 in the bank. With a $200 refund coming soon. I hate having no money in the bank. My rearend blew again today. The first time it was my fault, this time it was completely random. One of the spider gears split coming out of my driveway and took out the carrier and the rest of the spider gears. The local junkyard that is cheap, doesnt have what I need. No others are anything special. Here are my options. A. Spend $200 on a XJ rearend (for my MJ) and use the guts to fix my rearend. (Carrier and spider gears) Throw away the rest of the rearend since no one buys them here. Pros: Simple, cheapest option Cons: Still stuck with the D35 spiders that I have problems with for some reason. And still have a open diff. Have to set up gears. (Done it, but not any fun) B. Spend about $500 on a 8.8. and swap that in. Pros: Stronger rear, better brakes Cons: Expensive, its a $1000 truck pretty much, still have an open diff. C. Buy a full carrier locker (Detroit) About $400 Pros: Stronger? (No spider gears) Break simple axle shafts instead of spiders. (I only have 31s), I have a locker, locked rear end, locker. Cons: Have to set up gears, Kinda expensive. D. Suck it up and wait for the axle fairy to bring a XJ with what I need and install that $25 carrier. So what would you do?
-
I'm sure someone here's done it. Whatd it cost minus the cost of the axle? My second d35 broke today. So its time for a new one! 8.8 Swap it is.

Good deal, once I get steel, ill have my bumper started.
-
I'm making a bumper for my 90 MJ. The stock bumper brackets bolt to the side and bottom of the "framerail" There is just a single bolt holding it to the bottom of the framerail. With four holding it to the side. I will have a reciever hitch in the bumper. So there will be some towing with it. Is it nessesary to have that bolt? It would make my brackets much easier if I didnt need it.

Hi-Lift....where is yours???
summitlt replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have mine set up VERY simply. If you have the rollbar, the hilift bar sits perfectly behind the rollbar. The rest of the highlift can go into a toolbox. Thats how I have mine and I dontthink i could build a better setup. -
I have a 90 comanche and got hung up on my rear bumper and hitch. Both are rusted pretty badly and I really don't want to just put them both back on. I want something a little more rugged. What do you guys have for bumpers on you comanches? Preferably with a 2" reciever.
-
Id love to have these dimensions also, My hitch is fubar as of last night, and I need to fix it.
-
I know, thats what most others and what the people above did. I will have a adjustable valve here soon.
-
Got the rollbar and brushguard for $80. Had to pull it myself too.
-
Hehe. Before I even bought it! Home and washed Brishguard, Lights, rollbar, 2"BB ****JUNK**** tires Now! 31" MT/rs What do ya think?
