gear and locker question
comanche13 replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
so an aussie or lock right is a lunch box locker right? but a arb or detroit is a full locker? -
I'm regearing my front dana 30 to 4.11 to match my rear 8.8 and was wondering what brand of gears i should buy? Right now my gears are 3.09 so I'll need a new carrier but if I put a locker in there I wouldn't right? Do I need to buy the whole rebuild kit with bearings and stuff also or just new seals?I'm also installing the gears myself with some help. Thanks Tim

well i fixed up my battery cables bit thicker then the stock ones didn't have any battery cable so i took it off my old 6000 pound warn winch I also got around to fixing my fuel pump which was the cause of all my problems it was a Napa pump that ended up working after i went to every place in town and none had the right pump the part number was e7006 from Napa Here's a picture of the old pump and the new pump comparison Top view side view i had to modify it a bit but it wasn't hard i also as you can see in the picture converted the leads to the top to bolt on instead of clip on it came with 2 little clips to make it the clip on type but i did not like it here is the top that bolts to the sending unit the rubber piece I used a gasket hole punch to make it nice here is it after i modified it i don't have any pictures but the kit came with two spacers i used the ones off the old Bosch pump and cut a bit of the bottom out so it would fit nice in the bottom of the sending unit also but its all back in the tank and my truck has never ran better -
Project "Eliminator"
comanche13 replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
it would look better if you painted just the bottom half of the door red and left the top black imo but they look sweet maybe a future project for me -
yeah that metal end plate won't fit and even if i modified it the new pump was shorter. i can't believe the aftermarket pumps are so different then the stock one
-
Hey guys I found out my fuel pump is going which would explain the hard start and other problems but i have looked all over town and all the aftermarket parts do not work with my fuel pump sender like they will not bolt up to it and all the aftermarket pumps all do not bolt up any idea's where i can get one the old one is a bosch but no one caries them and there like 260 (might not even work) and the dealer wants 500 for one

well my truck is running horrible it almost like it is back firing and bogs when it has a load on it I just checked the TPS sensor seems to be right its at 4.86 closed throttle and 4.85 fully open says in my book that that's right. when i unplugged the o2 sensor it won't start at all. it has a new fuel filter that i installed awhile ago air filter is fine plugs are all good. tomorrow I'm going to check fuel pressure. any ideas what it might be. I'm going to check the catalytic converter too.

some new old pictures from when i was down the Duffy on a road trip. this was a really nice blue lake forget the name of it. this bridge has bats all over the bottom of it so your not allowed to drive it anymore put the canopy on but I only like to use it on trips and camping. rear view of the canopy also updates on the Comanche are found out its not the clutch going so now I have to go over it and figure out what it could be that makes it run like $#!&. thinking maybe clogged catalytic converter or TPS. i also took the o2 sensor off and it just would not start. -
