Agreed. It may require modifying the mounting location. The receiver would be behind the license plate. I've seen that done here. I sacrificed the factory location for the spare tire mounted under the bed. That was part of my motivation for the cap, secure storage. I use my Cherokee for towing purposes so I haven't moved on the hitch. It was a consideration when my buddy and I fabricated the roll pan. Unfortunately, my focus was to get the truck finished, so the idea was dismissed. It can still be incorporated. My other idea is much more involved.

I couldn't very well show the cap from the front. :rotf: Yes Young Jeeper, I suppose I do. Now that is a bold statement! I recognize that as the ultimate compliment coming from a gentleman not easily impressed and so in tune to his inner bling. :laughin:  ...you've just inspired a new idea.

Finally got around to getting a few more pics, up.

1991 4.0L daily driver/weekend wheeler build

What an impressive project. How did I miss this? I'm glad you posted and thanks for sharing the tip. -
Welcome to the "Club". Looks like you have a very good platform to start with. I've got an '89 Eliminator also. (See signature) So, you already changed the wheel to original, or other way around? The "ten holes" look to be in good condition also. From my experience here, it may be more beneficial to post specific questions on the "Tech" forum, ie. your electrical issue. Not always the case, but members seem to follow forums of interest to them. The members here are extremely helpful. I'd like to offer another suggestion if I may. There is a tool I use and would recommend. It took me literally 6 years to accidentally find it. At the top of this page in your title, there is a box on the right hand side that says "Follow this topic". It is at "0" now, but will change to "1" when I finish this post. You can click on the number and see who is following your thread. By clicking on the "Follow... box, you'll get options. Instant... will send an e-mail to your cell when anyone responds, including the message. I hope this is helpful whether you use it or not. Your experience is equal to mine when I started my project, trust me if I can muddle through, anyone can. Good luck. :wrench:

Hey all! I must thank the CC family yet again. I just resolved an annoying issue I've endured since the day I first test drove my Eliminator, the all too familiar squealing emanating from the front of the engine. I had exhausted all options; replacement of the idler pulley, water pump, serpentine belt, checked belt tension/deflection, everything except replace the harmonic balancer. I had pulled the original many months ago and after a visual inspection concluded it was in acceptable condition. Even though it appeared fine, it was in fact the culprit. The new Professional Products Powerforce damper I'd ordered from Summit remedied the issue. If I had only searched the pages here sooner. Thanks again for your contributions that directed me to an accurate resolution. FYI, some type of lubricant will assist with installation.

Does this year's curriculum include producing Comanche parts on the plasma cutter? -
Alexia's 1987 To 1997 Comanche

Shazam! Perfect stance, wheel selection, and the color is amazing. Your photography skills accentuate your creation. Welding rod fasteners? -
Ja Racer! You just can't do that. :shake: You know we're gonna need more information than just a few pictures. Nice before/after introduction. Please enlighten us.

Congratulations Jeremy! It's refreshing to witness a young man excited about an old truck and willing to put his hands to the task. You have every right to be proud of your accomplishment. It will be a pleasure to follow the evolution of your project. I too appreciate the practical approach you've taken to preserve the integrity of your Comanche.

What Brand Of Lift Is This?

The brace on the track bar bracket appears to be a Rubicon Express unit. -
:yeah that:

Finally got 1.

Is any of this needed? :laughin: I really like how approachable so many Jeep vendors are and often willing to work with you. Photobucket = :fs1:

Would you mind directing me to your thread so I won't ask rhetorical questions?

I recall a post in which you installed sway bar mounts that improved the bar's location, I think JK's. I assume the diameter matched the 1 1/8" Addco bar. Kevin of KOR claims his offering is equivalent to Old Man Emu in quality for less $. I'll reconsider and check out Tera Flex as well. Thanks again.

Photobucket WILL NOT cooperate. :fs1: I delivered the Eliminator to the painter last Tuesday evening to get the cap color matched as well a few touch-ups. He gave me a quote and said it would be in about a week. He called this afternoon stating that it was ready. Picked it up and it looks great! I'll continue to try posting pics. Allow me to do the honors. :needpics:

What a terrific diversion! Funny thing is, my post this morning was incomplete. I unwittingly got lost in my own head, I mean thread, and was about to return to the original topic: "ALUMINUM". In the cyber world, it's all free...but, it leads to mental warpage. And yes, I have unfortunately fallen down the rabbit hole. Hey Oyaji, it kinda sounds like you're about to bail? Hang on there dude. I'm thinkin the only major difference in our goal is engine selection. It seems there are only a few 2 wheel guys here, one of whom is Mr. Hornbrod and he is light years ahead of me. FYI - the Hesco head application is for HO engines only.
-
Too many, but not enough! Sounds that you're a lot like me in that work interferes with our lifestyle.
-
Very sweet Mr. Coffman. That's a heap of horsepower for a 'manche! Keep it going "down under".

How about one of these bad boys? Man bling to the nth. (of the 2 wheel variety) http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/Product596.aspx?id=4172 Don't be alarmed Oyaji. :rotfl2: Just more ridiculousness, if one were so inclined.
-
Oyaji. Your geography is dead on. The road salt here is horrific. My DD is a "rust bucket" as a result. My Eliminator will soon be going into hibernation. We've already experience a few snows of a couple inches last week which quickly melted. The tire fitment necessitated a lift, 3" worth, as previously stated. Stay focused Oyaji! :laughin: I'm just messin with ya. I see you're on a bazillion threads and I'm sure the facts run together. You're also correct on the tire rub. It is minor. Your suggestion coupled with a little massaging of the fender flares will suffice. That is until I acquire a little more "man bling", aluminum control arms. :shake: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-COMANCHE-MJ-HEAVY-DUTY-7075-ALUMINUM-FRONT-LOWER-ADJUSTABLE-CONTROL-ARMS-/260993261893?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cc4692145

 On it. Don, would you care to weigh in on my "list of ridiculousness"? In all honesty, I don't know which components are subject to fatigue and which will enhance performance.
