I could go that route... I just thought there might be a way to link up to another computer somehow so I could just basically transfer over.
-
Yea it has 2 USB ports and some type of serial port

Well I thought I was pretty computer literate. Well I just bought an Acer Aspire One and now that I'm thinkin about it, I don't know how to install programs on this thing since it doesnt have a cd drive. Any computer savvy folks out there? Edit: By the way... This lil guy kicks a$$. I bought it really to install waypoint trackers on and mount it in my Jeep. Would be killer to map offroad trips since its so compact it won't get in the way A few specs for anyone insterested: Operating System Windows XP Home Processor Intel® Atom™ Processor N270 (512KB L2 cache, 1.60GHz, 533MHz FSB) Chipset Mobile Intel® 945GSE Express Memory 1GB (512MB onboard/512MB SODIMM slot) DDR2 533 SDRAM Storage 120GB* hard drive SD Card reader Multi-in-one card reader: - Supports optional MultiMediaCard™, Reduced-Size MultiMediaCard™, Secure Digital, Memory Stick®, Memory Stick PRO™ or xD-Picture Card™ - With optional adapter supports optional Memory Stick Duo™, Memory Stick PRO Duo™, miniSD™, microSD™ Optional external USB 1.44MB* diskette drive Video 8.9" WSVGA (1024 x 600) TFT LCD, Acer® CrystalBrite Technology Up to 262,000 colors LED backlight Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Integrated Acer® Crystal Eye webcam VGA port Audio Two integrated stereo speakers Integrated digital microphone Headphones/speakers/line-out and microphone ports Microsoft® DirectSound® compatibility Interface Ports DC-in RJ-45 LAN VGA Headphones/speakers/line-out Microphone Three USB 2.0 Card Slots SD Card reader Multi-in-one card reader: - Supports optional MultiMediaCard™, Reduced-Size MultiMediaCard™, Secure Digital, Memory Stick®, Memory Stick PRO™ or xD-Picture Card™ - With optional adapter supports optional Memory Stick Duo™, Memory Stick PRO Duo™, miniSD™, microSD™ Communications Acer® InviLink 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Acer® SignalUp technology for enhanced antenna efficiency, WI-FI CERTIFIED™ 10/100 LAN Integrated Acer® Crystal Eye webcam Included Software With Windows® XP Home Edition: Acer® eRecovery Management Acer® Launch Manager Adobe® Acrobat® Reader McAfee® Internet Security Suite (trial version) With Linpus Linux Lite: Aspire® one Mail Messenger OpenOffice.org version 2.3 60-day trial of Microsoft® Office Professional 2007 (select models only) User Interface 84-key keyboard, embedded numeric keypad, hotkey controls, 1.6mm minimum key travel, international language support 12 function, four cursor keys WLAN switch with LED Power button with LED Touchpad with two buttons USB mouse (select models only) With Windows® XP Home Edition: one Windows® key With Linpus Linux Lite: one Home key Dimensions & Weight 9.8" (249.0mm) W x 6.7" (170.0mm) D x 1.1” (29.0) H / 2.2 lb. XJ /MJ realy dim lights and low volts
vzehler replied to Cabz's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was going to recommend new battery cables, but, considering the fact that you've already changed them I would just start troubleshooting the connections until I found the culprit. Fact is, that my jeep is the same way. It doesn't get quite down to the red at idle but it's definately lower on the gauge then I would imagine it should be. -
Soak that linkage rod with PB blaster a couple times before you try to tackle the adjustment procedure. Let it soak for a day or so in between each application. When I tried to adjust mine it would not move freely as the procedure calls for. Turned out to be a big pain.

There is an access hole in the sillmember for the last 2 bolts, one on each side. The sillmember is located directly behind the rear mount for your leaf springs.

2nd FWIW I did NOT say that D35s ONLY have rubber plugs, I said if it has a metal plug it SHOULD be a D44. Information you find on the internet is worth what you pay for it....you always have to do a little follow up research. If the OP did a 5 second Google search he would have found the same D44 pics that I found to compare to his D35 pic he posted after I replied to this thread. :wavey: The OP didn't have to google search anything about D44's because I already knew that it wasn't one. Anyways, thanks for clearing up the confusion. I suspected that it was a d35 but I had heard that one easy way to identify them is the rubber plug. Whoever told me that must have either not known themselves or failed to add that some d35's do have metal plugs. Either way, its a piece of $#!&.

question about going to buckets
vzehler replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The brackets are the same. However you will want to separate your mj brackets from the sliders and use the XJ sliders on your brackets. -
Get it finished? We need updates!

I think you should just wait for something else to come along. There is no way a dealer is going to come that far down from their sticker price. Besides, by the time you tow it home your spending even more money. You can find something ALOT cheaper and in much better shape.

MJ sagging front ( rustys coils )
vzehler replied to Cabz's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Another option would be a set of adjustable coil spacers. I don't know what your financial stand on this subject is, but, they are a little pricey. The bright side is that you can adjust them according to any changes you may have with no need to buy another set of coils... Plus you get to keep the lighter coil rate for a softer ride... just my 2 cents :dunno: -
Welcome to the club, your mj looks awesome for the money. I'm curious about your rear passenger side though. It seems like the wheel is pushed towards the rear more than it should be in the side view photo. Then the rear view picture it seems to sag alot on that passenger side. The sag is interesting because mj's are equipped with the gas tank on the driver side and tend to sag on the drivers side because of that. I'm sure your probably already aware of it... But sometimes i miss stuff myself.

Anyone running a 3" lift on 32" tires? I know its and oddball size to start with, but, if there is someone out there who has done it can I see a picture of your comanche? Thanks

33'' Tire in Stock Spare Location - WORKS!
vzehler replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't think I could trust the stock winch with that kind of weight on it.. -
Anyone else take advantage of it? I picked up their 3" lift for 700.00. Just need to ponder the thought of shocks, a wheel and tire combo and possibly some extended brake lines. They also had some nice deals on the diy roll cages, the rockkrawler long arm upgrade and rock rails. Oh and they had the deal where you buy any four tires and get a set of cragar soft 8's for free.

awesome... thanks folks... i appreciate the help... Not something I'm looking forward to with the weather and it being cold, but, it shall be done... thanks again,

I seem to have some gear oil coming out the end of my axle tubes on both sides of the front axle assembly. It had this seepage once before when I first bought it. Didnt think anything of it. I took a mildly long trip, came home and parked it, went out the next day and noticed 2 small puddles on both sides right at the edge of the tires. What's the dealio?
-
The bumper has never been submerged by me... not to say that it wasn't by the po... but I doubt it. well the a/c hasn't worked since I bought it... PO said he used it until it quit working and never fooled with it after that. I tried to retrofit r-134 without results.. As soon as it got enough refridgerant in it to start the compressor, the refridgerant I put in start leaking out the same hole I put it in. Other than that, the heat works killer... no complaints... Is that the only issues that could arise from the vacuum canister?
-
My bad... the vacuum canister on the front bumper is the one I'm talking about... So, where do you think the water came from? I ask because I got all the water out of it, but, I want to fix the source of the problem so it doesn't get more water in it..
-
I was putting a new bumper on the comanche tonight... I removed the evaporator canister off the old bumper and noticed it was full of water?? Is it supposed to? If not what could have caused it?
-
Come on guys... He just wants to be a trucker when he grows up... Somebody has to deliver our freight.. He's just getting practice on a smaller scale... lol
-
How about a review of the lift? Are you happy with it? Any bump steer or death wobble to speak of? How's the ride? BTW, what did the front dana 44 come from?
-
I appreciate the comments so far.. but... the only long arm lift I have seen is the one offered from motion offroad... Is there one that I'm missing?
