I'm the exact same way, give people your phone number and they act like they have ADD and call you. Then proceed to ask you questions that are clearly answered in the item description. I use the CL email system to screen potential buyers. Weeds out the people who will just call with no real interest because they can just pickup the phone. Plus then it allows me to make return calls, giving me a little bit of control over when I talk to people and in what order. The worst is listing an item with a phone number and getting random phone calls that you may or may not be able to take. If you send me an email, it goes right to my computer and to my phone, I'll see it, either reply, or call you back as soon as I can.

New crash standards came into effect for 2002, this is probably the only real reason that the XJ ended production when it did. The 5 year run of updated XJ's would have been at an end anyway, it needed updating to be kept fresh in the lineup. If you haven't noticed these days vehicles are lucky to make a 5 year production run. The industry is changing, the lead time to new product development has been cut dramatically by the use of CAD tools. With all manufacturers ramping up product R&D the competition has gotten stronger and stronger. Much like evolution but on a high speed timescale each generation brings better and better design, improved reliability, safety, economy etc. For manufactures that fail to update products and replace products quickly they risk becoming extinct. If you need any evidence of this just look at new vehicle generation, nearly every single one gets a "facelift" version about halfway through production, this way they can squeeze a little more life out of that generation of vehicle. the KJ got it in 05, the WK got it in 08, the JK is getting it for '11, ford's new mustang already has a body facelift.

Honestly if I were you I would keep harassing him untill he responds to your original phone number. Then when he finally does lay a huge guilt trip on him for just not telling you it was sold. I sold a XJ recently, turns out the first person to take a look at it bought it. But I had talked to like 6 people that same day who wanted to see it. Called them all back and told them it was sold, they were surprised and grateful that I took the trouble to call them back. Made me feel happy I could be the better person out of all of that, so I'll take the chance to be a D!CK if someone can't spend 30 secs to tell me not to bother because its been sold.

Yes the club we belong to was pretty big, but also had 6-7 planes, so getting one was almost never an issue. Did not know a home built could not be used for training. We went with the flight club because it meant reduced rates on the instruction and aircraft, it work out well at the time but even then ended up being costly. :(

I'm in fort collins(yarg I know 3 hours away). I was doing ground school concurrently with flight time. We would do an hour or two of ground school and then an hour of flight time, me and my dad would take turns doing it. I would have to go check my log, but I recall I only had about 6-8 hours flight time(at something like $150 an hour it adds up quick). If you were seriously willing to help I would get my @$$ in gear and be finishing up with ground school before we even set foot in a plane. We were looking into ownership pretty heavily, looking at different options for building our own plane, seemed like a good way to go, though super time intensive. We joined a club/co-op that was a pretty good deal though, seems like joint/communal ownership of a plane is a good way to go.

Cashback. When you buy something at the grocery store with the debt card just get $10 or $20 cashback. Spend $50 on groceries, throw $10 in the hidden fund. Do that once or twice a week and the hidden fund grows quickly.

It looks like when you typed DW, you meant WD.(Dear Wife vs War Department)

I don't know, but I've seen that before on older Jeeps. I assumed it was stock, but now that I think about it it was kinda rare that I saw em. Maybe something older that colorado used to do.....dunno man, but I would just leave it.

Got the still up and running. Right now I have some cheap vodka I am running as a test distillation. Ok the first few shots have come off. I took a little sip and then went running like a little girl for something to chase it. HOLY CRAP! that was strong, I have no idea how strong, but it was strong. So I decided to do the fire test: Ya it burns, which means its gotta be pretty high. Gonna need a hydrometer soon.

I honestly can't think of any other ads I've seen in recent years, even around presidents day, that featured Washingtons likeness in an ad. Sure there are plenty of "it's dealin Doug presidents day sale and these cars need to go, guaranteed $5000 for your trade" But it sure wasn't GW up there saying it, it was dealin Doug.

:???: Am I missing something? There are some things I view as sacred. Would you be pissed if Washington's likeness was used to peddle bigmacs on the valuemenu? Cause I sure would be. The commercial took a great man, a founding father, one of the most influential men in American and world history, and one that will be for long after you and I are gone, and cheapened him to peddle a product like vince the shamwow guy. I take that back, I was a little more than pissed, I was sickened.

I gotta say I was a little pissed off when I saw it.

Sold it this morning for $2700. Had lots of interest, makes me wonder if I could have gotten more out of it, I make plenty, I'm happy. Time to find the next Jeep to buy.

So I had a pretty good crop of apples this year, last year I got none, hail destroyed all the buds early in the summer. Figured there's only so many apples I can eat so I'm planning to turn the others into booze. Went out and got some supplies, gonna start fermenting some apples and then still construction shall commence. Will be posting updates:
