Very few accidents show up on carfax. I would be surprised if this one did, though to be fair carfax is managing to snoop around and intrude more into our personal lives so it might happen.

To make it look right you would want to combine a front door with a back door. this would also mean that the back door would meet the MJ cab perfectly in the back, overall just strectching the jeep out more. IMO if your going to do this you should start with a cleaner body MJ. And you should use a 97+ XJ front. For all this trouble why not have the latest and greatest interior? No offense, but I forsee this as a project that never gets off the ground, its one helluva commitment in time and labor.

Lots of work, but it would be very cool. To do it right you need to custom make the rear doors..... lemme whip up a quick photoshop of what I mean.....

Pete, you could try one of these setups: http://chat.parachat.com/chat2/login.ht ... nturbo.NET

It's simply a bunch of people logged in to one site and talking live on the internet via thier keyboards instead of typing a message in a BB like this and waiting for a reply to come. We tried it for a while on the forums that I Admin on, but it was much more work for us than it was worth. The site patrons enjoyed it, but it just did not really make sense to try to keep it up to us. My advice to Pete would be to research it thoroughly before making any commitments as it can be a real PITA for the site Admin & mods. What I've noticed is that on many forums there are not enough people logged in and wanting to chat at any one time to really make it worthwhile. Even on forums where there are as many as 200-300 people viewing at once, maybe 1-2% of those will go into chat.

school me on sliders. (window)
Sir Sam replied to camjeep3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the old style CRL 4-pane slider. It uses the original gasket and there is a weatherstrip on the left pane slider that the right pane slides into. I think that's his problem; it's been sun welded/scorched and the two slider panes are stuck to it. Get some silicone spray and douche it down the seam inside and outside, let it sit overnight, then try to break it free from the bottom then top gently. hehehe douche -
Or buy an extractor blade for a sawsall and do it that way - best way.

They may fit, but then you'll just have some wierd holes where your other switches used to be. To really do it right you would need to do surgery, drill out the plastic "spot welds" that hold the bezel around the switches from a 2 door door panel, and then remove it from the 4 door door panel you want to use, then glue the 2 door bezel onto the 4 door door panel. Lots of work for not alot of gain.

I know there are not many diesel choices for a swap.....but the 4bt is just not well suited for that vehicle. Edit: Dur, its a b3.3

Those aren't the 5 spokes...........

I don't know about that. I beat a kid off the light while towing a trailer full of stuff in the CRD Liberty. :D In his defense, his car was full of his friends. Just too many people for that little engine to overcome. I could see his friends raggin' on him, at the next light (more traffic there so we couldn't go again). Long live TORQUE!! Long live the CRD!

No, it will come on 11-4-2008.

How about a 2.8 CRD out of an 05 KJ?
-
Yes generally you would do that with uncommon terms. Example. "how do I test the output voltage of the APPS for my engine, it shouldn't be that hard since its basically just a big POT" Translation" "how do I test the output voltage of the APPS(Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor) for my engine, it shouldn't be that hard since its basically just a big POT(Potentiometer)" However with something simple and relatively widely known such as LCA's UCA's you don't bother. You wouldn't expect someone to spell out FYI, EG, IE, ETC.......... et cetera all the time would you?
-
Its a very simple "pulley" system, works by doubling the torque, but dividing the speed.

In Skool you will also learn to use all sorts of nifty punctuation.

A 24V 5.9 cummins with NV4500 would look pretty sweet in there.

Well for now I guess I will just throw this axle back under the parts jeep to get it out of the way..... This has just become a "gonna happen later" item.

Crap, really not wanting to get an Aluminum shell. Guess I gotta keep browsing craigslist.

-Grumble.

Yup, as the title says, I'm going SOA, no reason to reweld perches and all that stuff.... And yes, it is a 29 spline axle with about 80k miles on it. I probably will eventually convert the rear to discs, but right now I have so much other stuff to do on the truck that thats a much further down the road problem, but your right, the parts to convert them are readily availble at my local junkyard......heck, I could have even pulled some discs of an 05 KJ with the 8.25 rear end.....that would have been a very nice setup. I see no reason to bother with a ford 8.8. It just looks like alot more work and time for essentially zero improvement for me. Plus, the 8.25 was free.

got a 8.25(open) out of a 01 XJ. got an 88MJ with Dana 35(puke) If I put the 8.25 in will the additional height change anything will respect to the driveshaft? How much lift will I get out of the setup? I don't really want the rear end way up higher........and if its too much lift for my taste would I be better off using the XJ springs to keep it more akin to where I want it..... Any comments on shock length?

grab an 8.25, cheap, easy common
