  1. I don't have crap to sell him really. And ya, for most parts unique to 2.5s he will have to goto europe for parts.
  2. The couple of things that set this apart are: 1) it came to my webmaster email from my website. 2) he mentions the photos I have on my website(a large number which are prominently featured on my website) 3) if he really needed parts for a jeep in africa chances are it was a diesel, and there were a large number of 2.5CRDs sold from 2002-2004 in the rest of the world. bas speeling and grammer aside, there is an odd ring of truth.
  3. x2 none of mine have ever worked on my XJs, even on my 96 when it was only 8 years old.
  4. This is how you tell the gearing from the stamped numbers on the ring: Oh ya, bring the sexy, E-locker! So the shock mount, trackbar, and damper all mount different. Compared to he D30 mounts: So the spring bucket is also too wide on the JK D44. So between all these things being different and the spring perch needing to be moved anyways I figure I will just cut off the JK stuff and toss it, then cutoff the D30 stuff and weld it on at the correct width. Problem solved. Same hub size, but different lugs, why the hell would they do that? :shake: So thats the plan now, get hubs/rotors redrilled, weld on D30 spring stuff.
  5. I don't know what to make of this, got this in an email today(from my websites webmaster account):
  6. That would be expensive and I don't want JK wheels. I love my silverstars and am sticking with them.
  7. anyone seen it yet? was it good?
  8. Jesus christ, I am really starting to not trust anything you have to say. NONE of those are roosters, seriously dude. Dude what are you smoking? Brown eggs are not nutritionally any different than white, green or blue eggs. Ya store bought commercially produced eggs are less nutritional than free range, but color has no impact on nutritional value. IIRC, you got them as chics. I know of no way to sex out chickens as babies. I've either had, or been around chickens for 22 years, and I'm 22 years old. I said it looks like you have more males than females...I gave no definitive answer. the pictures show large combs on most of the chickens. generally, a large comb is indication of the chicken being a male, but not always, and not with all types of chickens. Brown eggs hold more protien. maybe that's an old farmer's tale, but you're talkin to a farmer man, and that's what I've gathered from a family of farmers, and many other local farmers. Ok, and I've either had, or been around chickens for 23 years, and I'm 23 years old. And yes, you can sex day old chicks. It's not 100% but they can be sexed, furthermore they are breeds called "sex-links" which can be sexed 100% correctly. When you cross certain breeds together recessive traits come through only on males or only on females, the particular breeds crossed can be sexed immediately after hatching based solely on physical appearance. Yes they have some nice large combs, but do you see any hackle feathers? Brown eggs DO NOT hold more protein, its an old farmers tale, just like tying the chicken head to the neck of the dog, and tomato juice will get the skunk stink out.
  9. Jesus christ, I am really starting to not trust anything you have to say. NONE of those are roosters, seriously dude. 2x Brown leghorns 2x Barred Rocks 1x Black Australorp 1x California White There are breeds that are very prolific egg layers, and other breeds that are better foragers and mothers(silkies make great mother hens), there are breeds specifically meant for meat production known as meat birds, they grown fast and don't live long, heck they grow so big so fast they often cannot support their own body weight. Dude what are you smoking? Brown eggs are not nutritionally any different than white, green or blue eggs. Ya store bought commercially produced eggs are less nutritional than free range, but color has no impact on nutritional value.
  10. Ya silkies are weird, and somehow appeal to many females. I like good utility breeds, chickens that are good foragers, are cold hearty, and lay many eggs. Silkies make good mothers but are kinda weird past that.
  11. Been awhile without chicken updates, one brown one just got done going through a molt, and the other brown one is still going through a molt. Got a $#!&-ton of eggs here, hard to keep up with the supply, demand is much lower, I keep trying to pawn them off on people, but theres always more eggs coming(got 4 today, ate zero).
  12. LOTS of fabbing.
  13. I thought it was pretty funny.
  14. http://video.ign.com/dor/articles/92321 ... 52109.html looks pretty sweet.
  15. Will any of the pre-JK D30 outers work on the JK D44? I've never tried, but for some I was pretty sure they wouldn't work. Which 8.8 would you use? Explorer, F150, or some other one that is a closer width match to the JK D44? Willy No idea if the older D30 knuckles will work or not, I am going to find out though. I haven't been able to find anything probative searching around online though. I will use a exploder 8.8 and use some spacers in the rear. Ya so the D30XJ knuckles won't mount onto the JK axle, gotta use JK knuckles. Looks like I will need to get the hubs redrilled.
  16. well I am already insuring 5 vehicles, it would be nice to save a little.
  17. Ya if its a grand wagoneer then it will have the centered pumpkin D44 rear, and the drivers drop LP D44 front. And something like 3.33 gears.
  18. really......5 vehicles for fleet coverage............what does that do to your insurance rates?
  19. Ok so I started getting into this today. The XJ/MJ/TJ/WJ/ZJ knuckles WILL NOT bolt onto the JK inner C's. I hadn't heard anything probative on that, and now I know for sure. In addition to the knuckle being a little too "small" the taper on the bottom balljoint appears to be different. Now for the hub, as I suspected the hub will interchange between the two, so at the very lease the XJ hub will bolt into the JK knuckle for whatever good that will do me. Note the hub isn't fully installed or clocked correctly, I just wanted to show that it will in fact install into the XJ D30 knuckle. And now the shaft, thicker and with more splines, so the JK shafts won't mate to the XJ D30 hubs. So right now my two options are: Find a U joint to mate between the XJ stub and the JK shaft(weaker). Redrill the JK hub in some manner to make it 5x4.5. Lug adapters really aren't an option for me unless I can find some that are only about .75 inches thick. The JK 44 is about 5 inches wider than a XJ D30, and by the time you throw on lug adapters(spidertrax for example would add about 3" to the overall width) thats alot of extra tire sticking out. So time to consider some more options......................anyone know if any other hubs might bolt in that have the correct spline count? This unit bearing hub seems to be fairly common, see it on fords and such, I just wonder if any of them have the correct spline count and bolt pattern.

  21. Well thats exactly it, if I can't run silverstars with this axle then I won't run it at all.
  22. Ya I got some skyjacker disconnects I can use anyways. I haven't seen anyone else play around with this axle, I am hoping I can figure a way to get it to natively run 5x4.5 wheels without adapters. Are the hub assemblies the same as the D30 ones? They look very similar. They look very similar, I will find out tomorrow if they interchange.

  24. Well I got to thinking today that maybe I should get back to work. So I started thinking about what I needed to do next which is to get the springs back under it so I can move on with fabbing up the tranny mount. Well I got to thinking and decided that the D30 is just too weak of an axle to put under the front end with 30.5" tires, so I decided to put a JK Dana 44 front under it. Quick search of craigslist and I went and picked up the cheapest one I could find at $300. Its missing the passenger side knuckle and the brakes, I will either replace everything thats missing and go back to JK specs, replace just the pass high steer knuckle and try to use D30 unit bearings, or put on WJ high steer knuckles and brakes(cheapest option thus far and keeps the 5x4.5 pattern) And now I will probably get a 8.8 with 4.10s and LSD for the rear, which is my ideal setup, selectable locker in the front, LSD in the rear. I'll top it off with a TJ locker switch and have everything nice and factory like I like.
