i never really tried starting it while it was underwater but i did after we got it out wich iam sure the air filter was soaked so it may have just a little in there hopefully not enough to lock it up.. but ill take out the plugs to be safe..

ohh i know what you mean.. slit the mount holes on that little metal mount for the CPS.. so it can slide off if ever i need to replace it?

i havent tried pullin the plugs and turning it over yet either... i wonder it a little water would squirt out.. then should i let it dry out if it does? or would it burn out?

ok cool, so today after work iam gonna check for fuel pressure and spark.. but iam kinda sure its the CPS.. since it was under water as well.. it prolly doesnt like bein soaked

yea but i put it on a switch now so i turn it on before the truck is even on.. should it still "prime" then stop?? or keep going since its on the switch always getting power until i flip it?

thanks for the heads up eagle.. iam about to get a cps for it.. but i think today after work iam gonna check and see about fuel pressure.. since i put the fuel pump on a switch i turned it on then tried cranking the truck i heard the fuel pump goin but it sounded like it stayed on instead of "priming" then getting quiet.. my friend says the fuel pump stays on like that all the time i just can't hear it because the truck is running

i think it could be a relay theres 3 blue ones on the passenger side... or could it be the ecu?? it may have gotten wet.. or distributor..... right now it turns over.. but won't start........so iam thinkin its not getting spark.. would a cherokee ecu work in mine??? as long as its 4.0 5spd

well it still won't start, i just put new spark plugs in.. all it does is crank.. but no start.. i saw three blue relays on the passenger side of the engine bay.. what are they to? what else may mess up if it gets wet? i hope its not the distributor but iam sure that didnt get wet

hahah i have no dash therefore its not ugly hahaha but i put a killswitch on my truck too... for the negative. and a killswitch for the taillights for those "illegal" wheeling trips at night hahahaha

yea all that was hooked up.. i made a switch in the cab on my "custom" dash haha..

id like to get a set of those 36 13.5 crawlers.. but iam prolly going to get 36 15.5 SX's

does anyone know what wires are to the fuel pump for a 88 4.0? i got that harness in everything works but the fuel pump... i was thinking i may just put it on a on/ off switch... but would that work? and what wires

i got it, and got the harness' swaped out.. its 6mm

I took my starter off because it was waterlogged....and realized it said mitsubishi on it??? Do yall's say that? Whenever I went to test it at autozone it was shooting sparks lol

hey...i figured out how to make it work and i think it was from a cherokee, it had a few extra clips that i didn't need and so i had to reroute a few wires and use some of the old clips off of the old harness...everything should work now...i'll keep you posted

i need a 88 4.0 5spd manche fuse box, the one i have that i was gonna use as a replacement isnt a exact match there are a few connection plugs that are different.. mainly the ones for the lights and stuff.....so if anyone has a 88 manche fusebox with full harness id need it please..
