Thanks bigd44889 and Blhtaz! I`ll the checking it this afternoon, by the way do you know if any of the autoparts stores have this ISA? or is it a must order from the dealer thing? Just in case i should buy it -
I been having a problem with the MJ , when I'm at a stop in a red light the engine begins to accelerate like its gonna blow away, i saw one day that the cable of the accelerator and the little round black thing start to twist and that's when the engine accelerates to the limit. I'm guessing this sensor coul be the reason since it connects direct to the piece that makes the weird twisting, if you guys think this is the problem ,please tell me the name of it here's a pic

breaking into your vehicle (lost keys)
ricksjeepster replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
jeje you got me wrong jeepco i was thinking about keeping a small "piece" of dipstick hidden under the bumper or something like that, instead of a key wich could be more easily use by someone who wants to steal your car well thats just a tought -

ricksjeepster replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
That is correct oizarod115... Using the dipstick you might be able to unlock the doors without breaking any windows that way you can have something hidden to open the truck instead of an obvious key -

Thanks guys I`ll be checking on the IAC for dirt or something, this is a good point to start discarding causes of problems in the truck Thanks again guys!!!! ps i`ll check for vaccum leaks also.. -
My truck started to show a new issue when i stop in a red light does one of the next things: Sometimes it accelerates like hell with no aparent cause... and sometimes the engine begins to die almost to completely death point, but if i step hard on the brake it gets better. my first thought was that it could be a problem with the booster but I'm no mecanic genie so i want to ask you guys who probably know better Its really weird and gets me all... :wall: Rick

ricksjeepster replied to ricksjeepster's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looks like its fixed! As I said , i was using the new oil cap but there was oil leaking so i change the new caps plastic gasket and put it in the factory one then drove for about 40 miles, no leak when I checked.... Image Not Found Note: the silicon was an attemp to seal the old hose... i still want to check the time chain this weekend just to be sure everything is okay with my silver beauty -
Help please-oil leak
ricksjeepster replied to ricksjeepster's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks Pete I`ll check the timming chain this weekend Aemsee: I have the 2.5l tbi engine, there was a kinda flexible hose instead of the valve, but as you can imagine it ws completely toasted and falling apart, it was just forced in into the orifice of the engine and looking bitten :dunno: , I have installed a pcv valve because that hose its veeery hard to find and i tough it will work as well , but if say its wrong i still have the old burned hose...and what about the oil cap bubbles??? well they are not bubbles but you can see a small bubbling there... -
Hi my MJ started to leak oil from the top of the engine and i got oil on the air filter (blow by i guess?) already changed the pcv valve and put a new oil cap on cause´ the old one was also leaking, now the leak continues and I'm starting to get scared about the engine running with bad compression or something. any advice ?'?????? :???: :???:

ricksjeepster replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Shhh... don't tell anyone a friend of mine just helped me open the truck once with his XJ engine oil gauge (if thats the name for the thing to check oil levels) actually it was one of the flat ones so it worked as a master key. I guess we can have something like a piece of that thinggy hidden somewhere in the truck...just in case -

My truck came with a pair of small speakers under the dash, they are not wired but i´ll see if i can take em off so i can post a picture of them (by the way I'm not really certain about wich type my truck is; Laredo, pioneer or what, it just came with a: special edition side sticker) but there´s speakers under the dash with the line cuts to allow sound to go out , no doubt
