GM developed and raced a 1000hp ecotech Sunfire 10 years ago. Stock block, mostly stock head, destroked to 2.0l displacement, all custom internals and 40lbs of boost.

The RX-7 and RX-8 use a Wankel rotary engine. Completely different beast than an Otto cycle engine. It'd be like comparing a bicycle to a skate board. HP is torque multiplied by rpm.

If by NO2 you mean nitrous oxide, is it N2O. A given molecule of nitrous oxide only has half the oxygen as a molecule of oxygen (O2). Where the advantage of nitrous comes is that it is pure or nearly pure, whereas air is only 21% oxygen with 78% being (inert) nitrogen and 1% other mostly inert gasses. Theroetically pure O2 from a bottle would work better than N2O, but pure O2 is too dangerous to work with.

Foolproof way to fix the CAD: add an oil seal on the passenger side of the pumpkin (NAPA part number on first post of my build thread in my signature), pull the CAD guts, and replace the two piece shaft with a single piece one.

Long Bed To Short Bed Conversion?

Not real clear, but the best I can do for now. -
That sucks. You paid for all that water....

For serious off road with a non-disconnect Dana 30, brace the sheetmetal passenger upper control arm bracket on the axle. The first three axles I grenaded were disconnect ones (with a single shaft conversion). The last Dana 30 in my truck was a non-disconnect out of a 96 parts XJ I had picked up. 5 months later the passenger upper control arm bracket got ripped off the axle while climbing a ravine. People say the disconnect ones are weaker because the passenger side consists of two pieces of axle tube connected by the cast disconnect housing. I have never found that to be a weak link at all. For street driving or mild trails you should have no problems with the stock bracket.

The left and right plates are different. One is mirror image of the other. Long wheel base comanches have the shocks mounted in front of the axle, and the plates are installed with the pin in front of the axle. Short wheel base comanches have the shocks mounted behind the axle, and the plates are installed with the pin behind the axle. Therefore, a long wheel base left side plate is the same as a short wheel base right side plate. And obviously also, a long wheel base right side plate is the same as a short wheel base left side plate. So if you say "left side" without specifying wheel base, we don't know which one is needed.

113 vs 119.9 according to my 87 owner's manual. -
Front Left Wheel Clicking Sound

If 4wd could be a bad front axle shaft u joint. -
DO NOT reuse the bolts and straps. They are not meant to be used more than once. Spend the $5 to buy new ones. Where the cross member mounts depends on transmission, and has nothing to do with 2wd or 4wd.

Long Bed To Short Bed Conversion?
mvusse replied to JeepUtah's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I might be splitting hairs, but I thought it was more like 7 in front and 5 behind the wheels. -
The MT trucks have an advertised payload capacity of 2205 pounds. 3300 is only 50% over.
-
Not as simple as that. Spline count and input shaft length depend on what transmission it was behind. The only transmission behind which could be either 21 or 23 spline was the AW4, and I believe the changeover on that was 1989, at the same time the stick shift went from the Peugeot to the AX15, well before the switch to HO.

ZJ front brakes are no different than similar year XJ or Wrangler brakes. Possibly no different from 91-92 MJ brakes either.

What Breaks In A Boosted 4.0L?

This is the blown 4.0. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151956418415991&set=vb.747280990&type=2&theater -
No you can't. If the pin is in front of the axle on the left hand side it will be behind the axle flipped over to the right hand side.

With my 35" tires, the stock brakes were an accident waiting to happen, so when I moved up to 37s I installed a booster out of a 96 XJ. Got around the pedal mods by swapping in the 96 brake pedal as well, and spliced in the plug for the 96 brake pedal switch into my 87 dash harness. Very happy with the outcome.

Does Vin Tell Gear Ratio? Or Any Other Clues
mvusse replied to DaveB26's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As I stated in my other reply, 4.56 will already gear your truck lower than it is now, and 4.88 will sacrifice strength in the front axle. -
There is no difference between axles, but which one is left and which one is right depends on wheel base. lwb locates the shocks in front of the axle, swb locates the shocks behind. So a left hand one for a swb is the same as the right hand one for a lwb.
