  1. Has anyone else had this issue? how did you solve it? I have the rustys 4.5" crap lift and the front has saged 1" to the front DS .a freind of mine has a 3" lift on his and it is leaning the same way. I even have extra spacers 3/4" on the DS and it still sags. any ideas? P.S this truck has never been wrecked and set dead level side to side with the stock suspention setup
  2. by the way here's my prize :D Image Not Found Now I can save enough gas money to occasionaly drive my heeps
  3. Well just got back :D 1280 miles and 4gts of oil later, no problems other than the nasty valve cover or rear main leak. the bottom of my MJ is now rust proofed from stem to stern :D the ole girl managed to get me an average of 20 MPG and some of the time I was runnin the A/C thanks for the replies and possible rescue attempts
  4. thanks, I don't think I'll have any problems but5 I like to cover the bases :D
  5. I-75 to I-24 it's pretty much a straight run. I'm takeing a spare fuel pump just in case. thats kinda what I think the issue is . sometimes she won't start up on the first try . But it will run perfect after it starts
  6. go with motion , Rustys kit is garbage Trust me I bought it and the hole kit just sucks . MY MJ leans to the front DS and the rear springs won't hold any real weight should you decide to use the MJ as a truck.
  7. I am leaving Ocala FL to go to smyrna tennese to pick up an old motorcyle, the ole MJ is haveing a few starting issues but once running it runs great just in case I have any road issues and can't reach my friends in GA can anyone else lend a hand if I get stranded? :D I don't think it will happen but one can never be to careful ;) If you can post or PM me a number just in case I will be leaving FL midnight thursday  :D Thanks in advance
  8. does the trac bar still pull it down even if you have an adjustable track bar?
  9. vibes after regear? sounds like driveshaft ballance time :D
  10. I actualy have 2, 3/4 spacers on the DS and it still leans .I was thinking of doing the ACOS , how much more is the DS cranked than the PS?
  11. I ahd thought that might be the case a while back and I swapped them side to side , still leans. It's kinda makin me crazy :headpop:
  12. Has anyone noticed there LWN MJ lean to the drivers side front after a lift? I lifted my MJ 4.5" ( with the crustys kit and full 4" leafs ) and shortly after that the ole girl is 1" lower in the front DS . I replaced the front springs and had the same issue. another friend has an MJ same as me with a 3" kit and it has the same lean. any ideas? niether MJ has been wrecked or offroaded .and both sat perfectly level before the lifts . I was thinking that the springs might have just settled more on the DS because of the wieght of a full 23 gal gas tank and only a driver but that shouldnt have made it lean , at least it didnt lean on the 200.000 mile stock stuff. call me stumped
  13. Dakota seats? how did that work out? got a pic? I have 4dr XJ seats in mine , kinda sucks not being able to get behind the seats.
  14. Thanks for all the sugjestions guy, I got it figured out . It turned out to be the clutch/trans switch out of adjustment. I didnt realize that they had a mixed in switch setup . the SW I am refering to is the one up high , white plastic with a vac line on it I thought this was for crusie only. The reverse lights turned out to be juts the NSS out of adjustment ( the switch is kinda crappy anyway ) . but as of now she's all done and works like a dream :D thanks again
  15. yup i even compared it to my daugther xj and it is wired and workin right
  16. I swapped from a dead pukegoat to the aw4 , I also swapped in all the wiring harness , pcm and tcu from the same vehicle. The reverse lights used to work on the old setup , what i think is wrong there is the wire for it is in the wrong spot on the plug ( one of them anyway ) they used to like to change simple things like that from one year to the next on the old heeps . I will check out that link , thanks :D
  17. yup everything is adjusted as the FSM said to do , thats why this is kind of a headscratcher .
  18. Well I finaly got around to swapping the aw4 into my MJ :D so far it works like a champ, well with one issue  the TC won't lock up ( and no backup lights ). I checked thew brake switch and it is fine but when I have the scanner on the heep it shows the brake pedal is activated and the lock up is off. any ideas on what this could be? ( by the way this is an 88 MJ 4.0 with an 89 harness and aw4 )
  19. I just got done swapping an AW4 into my LWB MJ , now the drive shaft is way to long  can anyone tell me what the stock rear DS measurement is for a LWB MJ with the D44 and AW4 combo? I had a freind come buy with his LWB MJ it has the aw4 d35 setup. His Dshaft measures 48 1/2 from center of yoke cap to center of yoke cap So I figure 47 1/2 for mine should be about right ? I just wanna be sure before I get the DS hacked up TIA
  20. the 727 I have is an amc bell houseing , it came off a 360 v8 and will bolt up to a 258 as well. I was thinking I could use the flywheel from a 258 to mate the trans to the engine but i think the starter would be a issue then . the 360/258 engines use a motorcraft/ ford starter . I don't know if the flywheel tooth counts will let me use a standard jeep starter or not . just something else to ponder
  21. I thought of the aw4 and true it is a damn near bullet proof trans but I allready have a 727 and 208 ready to go . I was gonna use the aw4 and I even have the wiring to do it but either way it is a major job and since I have a 727 anyway I figured I would ask. as far as the 727 not having OD I would imagine it would be ok it' would keep the ole girl in the power band for sure I just enertained the fact because the 727 is simple no electronics no ecu just a simple trans to beat on.
  22. Has anyone here tried putting an amc 727 auto trans in there MJ? I have one laying around and go to wondering. I also have the FSJ 208 that was behind it and since it has no slip yoke and is the right side drop it just makes me wonder if this isnt a viablie option. the only issue I see is the cps and the flywheel I would have to use . any sugjestions?
  23. no aditional lift at this piont . I have a 4.5" lift now when I swapped in the rear D44 I had to have the driveshaft shortened about 1" and I had to have the front shaft redone when I swapped in the 94 XJ d30. I had just heard the ax15 was a hair longer than the pukegoat and it seems like the outputshaft on the XJ case is longer as well, so I figured I would run it by the experts :D . I can hardly wait to get this swap done , I havent been able to drive the MJ for a few weeks now and it's killin me. Driveing my 4cyl 5spd YJ with lockrights front and rear is a bit anoying as a DD
  24. I will have my new tcase this week and be ready to yank my dead pukegoat out . I have the ax15 all ready and the tcase is a 98 XJ case 231 with the sealed output. the question I have is both of my DS are new , Am I gonna have to replace them or cut them any? This is all going into my LWB 88 MJ . I am hopeing to just be able to use the shafts I have without any mods to them . any ideas on what I should be in store for?
