  13. That :agree: My grandfather told me many years ago, "If you want to be different, shave your a$$ and walk on your hands".... Sage advice....I think...... Can't imagine he would have shaved anything the military didn't make him clean up.....
  14. Nice. What size tires are those?
  15. So, my lovely bride just asked the name of our new Jeep Thingy. I assured her it was not a 'Thing'y. But, apparently, I need to name it. Anyway, thought I'd check on the names used out there. Some clever posters on here, so lets have 'em. What'd'ya name your Jeep? I have heard PJ - as in (PEE-J) = JEEP backwards...

  19. Folllowed up a CL ad for "88 Comanche parts" Said he had a slider for $50. He sent pic and looked okay, so headed out on Saturday. Here's the truck -- really in the middle of nowhere. And the slider.... Took the guy about 2 hrs to get the slider out, so we walked over the yard. Found an XJ with a blue console! Perfect. Little dirty, but should clean up okay. Grabbed it out of this. Also, took the overhead console for later modification. Grabbed some clock panels. And Comanche emblems. Also, got the smaller PIONEER emblems. Anyone need them? Comanche bumper and tailgate were bent, but the factory bumper brackets are there. He'll send them to you if you need them. PM me if you want his info. This is the same place where I found the full-figured beauty... http://comancheclub....t-first-glance/
  20. REALLY liked this '89 XJ Door Panel. Other panel had been removed (to get the regulator) and bent -- but I like the fabric, vinyl combination. Picking up the bumper, brackets, gas tank w/ sender and headliner next week when I'm back in town. My board is okay, but I'll keep the best one and sell the other one.
  21. Grabbed some XJ buckets - little dirty, but really good shape. Found some 2 door buckets, also. May grab them, too. Future use or sell to a needy soul. They're from a '97 XJ, so I guess they'll work.
  22. Local JY said they had a Comanche "somewhere out there"...so, had to take a look. Sure enough, we found an '88 that had been T-boned pretty good. Blue interior, so grabbed a few trim pieces. And then I saw this! Factory with mounting brackets! This one also had a factory 3-pane slider. One pane is broken, so I didn't have them pull it. I found another one elsewhere, but wonder whether I should get this one too. What do you think? Let me know if I should get it. Also, had them hold the gas tank with sender. Posted on tech forum to find out how to check the sender function before I buy it.
  23. And decided to look for a new bumper - this one's not too bad, but you can tell it's been bent back out and repainted. A little damage to the bed, too. But, that should be repairable.
  24. In the meantime, decided to find new seats. The bench springs on the driver side are really poor and not supportive at all. Makes you slide toward the door. Looks like the PO tried to fix it with extra foam. Eh, didn't work.
