I have a '90 Renix era MJ with the 4.0. I always let the pump prime for a few seconds before I start the engine and it always take several cranks to get her started. This is true when the engine is either cold or up to normal operating temperature. Makes no difference. However, I left her parked outside (the garage) the last two days in the 85 degree heat & sun and both times I started her, the engine started on the first crank. Can anyone explain why?

Is this a factory Instrument Cluster?

Would it work? -
Odd to see the high end speedometer with the large gas gauge in the same cluster with idiot lights. Was this from the factory or is it a Frankenstein?

It might be a good deal, but only 5 pictures. I wouldn't consider it with that limited data. -
Wow, is that a find!

Recently, I've noticed that the coolant bottle has been running low and I can smell coolant with the hood open. It doesn't overheat, the temp gauge is always below 210, no work on system recently, no coolant on the oil dip stick, and the system is (has been) in great condition. It's a 1990 with the 4.0L and the AW4 transmission. I warmed it up this morning and looked all around with a light and I can't find the source. Can someone recommend a pressure test kit that works with my Renix coolant bottle? Does the Harbor Freight PITTSBURGH Radiator Pressure Tester Kit work? I'm asking about this one because I can pick it up locally.

I thought this would be interesting to share. I subscribed to Peterson's 4 Wheel & Off-Road magazine back in the day and I found this issue recently. It has the "First Look" at the Jeep Comanche and there is also "Win a Jeep Comanche" at their annual off-road event ad.

So, the nice weather is finally here and I'm starting some smaller projects on the MJ. I recently acquired a bench seat passenger side female plastic sleeve (see picture below). The issue is that it is in the factory color Sand and my interior is factory Charcoal from 1990. Yes, I have looked, but cannot find a product that will effectively change the color of the plastic sleeve to Charcoal. Can anyone recommend a product that works well? I'm not concerned with changing the color of the seatbelt itself because I'll just slide the plastic sleeve over my correctly colored seatbelt. lastly, can anyone recommend a product that can help hold together the crack in the plastic? Doesn't have to look perfect, I just don't want it to continue to crack. Thanks, Rob

how best to drain the gas tank?
robfg67 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got it! So I can attach a hand pump to the return line of the pump to drain the tank. Makes sense.
