Wildman, I know this might be difficult to do in words, but what is the technique for removing the Jeep clips with that arrow-headed tool?

I just watched this YouTube video and now realize why the tool needs to hooked:

I'm about to start an auto bodyrepair/full truck repaint project and I need to carefully remove the windshield frame and reinstall it after the paint job. Has anyone done this before? Do I need a special tool? Worst case scenario-I can practice on Cherokees in the JY.

mfpdm, thanks for confiming the smaller plug. Knowing that, if I pull the vanity light assembly and wiring back to the plug from a Cherokee at a JY, it should work.

Definately practical, but very very ugly! Those hook rails make it look like an 1978 Datsun.

The first image is where the plugs are located-the passenger side dash: This is a close-up of the plugs. The large plug has pink and black wires. The small plug has purple and black wires.

I just looked at the photos from previous all-you-carry days and it looks pretty wild! These guys don't fool around. Twisty, did you have to pull the axle or was it separated?

There are two 10MM screws that hold the door handle in place. The screw closest to the door jam unscrews nice and easy every time. The other screw snaps the bolt shank EVERY time. I tried to remove 5 different handles today at the bone yard and the same bolt shank broke each time. I shot the bolt with PB Blaster and turned the wrench very slowly. Does anyone here have a trick to removing this screw?

I would need to take apart my dash to see what the clock connector looks like. Its too late for that tonight and I'm watching the post-game show on NESN. Go Bruins!

Jim, the cigar light assmbly plugs into that connector and then clips onto the back of the cigar lighter cylinder (you can see one of the slots in the picture below). My MJ didn't have the light assmbly and I had to look at 5 different cherokee's at the local bone yard before I found one.

I owned a 2003 Rubicon and it was a great truck. I would look very closely at the mileage. It is very easy to disconnect the odometer from behind the gauge cluster. Look at the srews that hold the gauge cluster. If they look pristine, you should be ok. If they looked hacked (they have been taken in and out a lot) ask why that is? There aren't a lot of reasons for going back there.

I should have mentioned that. All 4 shocks changed 5 months ago. There really is no noise coming from the front end unless I flex-out the suspension. I suspect it's the passenger side coil. I'm hoping someone can recommend a stock suspension replacement kit that includes all of the "soft" parts. Obviously, the coils would need to be replaced as a set.
