  1. http://www.findcars.com/a.php3?q=328307 Looks really clean with power everything. Too bad I'm not looking for one right now.
  2. my rails are from a chevy 3500 with the long bed. Just bend the outside of the rail a little and they fit really well. I cut off about 1.5 ft. from it for my shortbed. look up my build.
  3. mine snapped off right at the little lead sinker thing at the pedal end of it. Kinda sucks, but i can live without.
  4. Well, finally got the rust patched up. Pop riveted some sheet metal in, then put body filler over that to smooth it out. Looks alright for my first attempt at bodywork (i think). Besides its only a work/school truck for now. Probably get the tires on next week and check the LCA bushings. Also need to pick up some color-matched paint for the wheel well and some other touch-ups. Then school starts and I'm not going to have any time to work on it......
  5. Here are some more random pics taken today. Getting the rust on the driver wheel well under control. Have replaced the track bar, steering arm. Still some death wobble on certain bumps, gonna replace the LCA bushings next. Then probably new shocks all the way around with new tires (gonna just go with a 235/75). Also just have some general sensors and easy stuff to replace engine wise. Then in 2 months I can finally drive it! October 12 is the day.... Wheel Well It looks kinda small..... The audio system the bedrails thats it for now, I'll take some more when i get the rust fully repaired
  6. Herculiner, worked pretty well. The only thing i have against it is that it is very soft, doesnt stand up to metal scraping on it (stove feet) or other things like that. Caution to those who use it, WEAR GLOVES!. It stained my hands black for about 2 weeks and i wasn't even trying to get it on me.
  7. at the end of my second post, of the redone interior and bed
  8. well, i still don't know if it is the main seal. The seal was wet , but not very leaky. It seems to be comming from the top left (looking from the tailgate) of the tank. only leaks if gas is above 3/4 tank.
  9. What are some common spots for a gas tank leak? I have a small one, seems to be originating from where the lines go into the tank.
  10. Finally done with the interior Havent been on here in forever  Took me all winter cuz of basketball........ Herculined the bed also. Now I'm looking for some newer rims/tires for it, i'll put a post in the classifieds
  11. upgrade wise, no. Just been fixing it up to a drivable state. I havent been home for the past couple weekends (dang partys) so i havent been able to work on it much. Got new floors into it though, gonna put bedliner and rubber mats for my interior.
  12. Thanks, its going to be a project for me. I have to manage my weekends between basketball and snowmobiling :chillin: . Besides i have all summer untill i get my license so lots of time will be spent on this
  13. umm, i don't know for sure. Its in the area though. I remember when i used to live there going to doniphan.
  14. got some pics under the projects forum.
  15. I have an uncle who is a mechanic that lives in popluar bluff. he works at dukett trucking, but they do vehicle repair too.
  16. Here is my first vehicle (just happens to be a Comanche).I bought this '88 4.0l 2x4 with a 5spd. trans for $400. Interior is ripped out right now to fix rusted floors, probably going to use a bedliner or such for a covering. It has bucket seats and a tilt colum. Sony Xplod 6.5" in the doors and 6x9" in the rear panels. Also has Xplod cd player. This truck is going to be my daily driver until i get closer to graduation. Then If it doesn't go on me, I'm going to make it into an offroad rig. comments welcome. more pics to come (sorry if they are dark, i took them in my garage tonight.)
  17. ya, i knew i was going to need a trac bar and brake lines. I'm new to this stuff (only 15) and i'm doing it all on my own with my own money so I'm trying to do it right. My parents don't offer much support so i'm on my own with figuring out what to do. thanks for the information. I'm gonna post pics soon, whenever i can steal the camera for a while.
  18. where would be the best place to get control arms? I'm gonna need Uppers and lowers for 4.5" front lift, right?
  19. alright, I'm thinking about buying some rusty's 4" leaf springs and 4.5" coils. After that I'm gonna need UCA's LCA's, longer shocks, trackbar, and what else, I'm having a brain fart... :redX:
  20. could you pm me some info on how i should secure some sheet metal to the fender?
  21. My left rear fender is rotting out, the outer part of it has a huge hole above the fender flare (ive already taken them all off) and i was wondering what I should do. I don't have a welder, or really much axcess to one so I'm lost here of what i should do. If I did have a welder I would take my left front fender (dented in the front), cut out a patch and put that on. I was wondering about the whole Easy-Foam thing but i had questions too about the water retention of it.
  22. I have no personal experience with that kit. I have also been looking at this kit but am undecided. The bolt-on SOA setup looks pretty good, but you can do that for way cheaper if you have axcess to a welder. It depends on how much you want to lift your truck. For less lift, go with Hell Creek or Rusty's 3" or 4" leaf springs (add a leafs can stiffen your suspension and sag over time) and for the front go with Rubicon Express' 3.5" lift for a Cherokee and scrap the aal that comes with it. I'm not an expert with this stuff, lots of this information has come from freerocknok, blhtaz, 89eliminator, and cwlongshot (so thank them for most of this). Thats all the info I have right now.
  23. So, the xj RE 3.5" lift would work for my comanche? I looked on the Hell Creek Suspensions and was wondering which springs to order. I couldn't figure out which ones would fit the MJ, it said fits same year trucks, but arent those the J-trucks? I'm just a little confused
