Like Eagle said, as long as there is no dry rot and the beads look good. I was going to say 150... Some shops are looking at the dates and NOT mounting tires that are old regardless of tires condition!! I have bought a couple sets recently. The first is a set of 5 BFG 33x 10.5 75+ % on AR alloy rims for 350. Then a second set of 4 31x10.5 BFGs 40-50% on AR alloys for 200. Single tires, like spares, but near brand new on rims for 25-30. Then factor in how much do you want them? Don't go over 200, be patient and you will find what you want for what you are willing to spend. CW

You have already done what I would have suggested with jumping and pulling the cables to check the Alt. Sometimes a battery just dies.. it just happened to me last weekend in the wife's Libby... She went to the store, hour later I get a call that the jeep won't start. I go thru the standard stuff, no luck. It was fine then it wasn't... Found the batt dead dead dead. the jeep was jumped and ran fine. I changed the batt and everything is fine again. Further examination showed something happened inside the batt, the neg post had "sunk" into the battery body! BTW, MAN have batteries gone up!! Glad you found it!! CW

Front receiver hitch...good idea?

That's a conventional winch mount. I happen to have it on mine. Sounds like he wants to use a receiver winch mount and move it front to rear as required... CW -
CHILLING LETTER TO OBAMA SNOPES confirms this letter. See: http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/youscareme.asp A LETTER FROM A PROCTER AND GAMBLE EXECUTIVE TO THE PRESIDENT THE LAST SENTENCE IS THE MOST CHILLING Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America’s true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management.. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history. AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA Dear President Obama: You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American. You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail. You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad. You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one. You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves. You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations. You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people. You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient. You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do. You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaugh's, Hannity’s, O'Reilly’s and Beck’s who offer opposing, conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing. Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years. Lou Pritchett * This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.. It's happening right now.*

THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT FORWARD TO ALL YOU CAN Everyone of voting age should read these two books. Don't buy them, get them from the library before they are removed from the shelves. From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.' From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.' From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white.. From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.' From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.' And FINALLY, and most scary! From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.' If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to do so! We CANNOT have someone with this mentality running our GREAT nation! These are his words straight from his books! In God We Trust

Front receiver hitch...good idea?
CWLONGSHOT replied to Incommando's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had one for a while on a FORD PU and because we moved trailers all the time I found it VERY USEFUL! I would not recommend it unless you too move allot of trailers. CW -
Took the MJ and the trailer to my sister in laws place up in Mass. She is selling it and needed help moving the "personal" items she didn't want to go with the movers. SO< the MJ and my trailer sure earned its keepo today!! almost 200 miles, just over a half a tank of fuel and we got er done!! Truck and trailer worked PERFECTLY!! CW

Today I added a Cooler basket/rack to the front of the trailer. I bought this for the TJ couple years back and didn't really like it as it sat so high it wasn't really useful. I used most of what came with the rack, only cutting down the gate mounts to 5" "pins". I welded these to the base of the front of the trailer so I can remove the rack should I not need it. Image Not Found I marked out the rail for pin position and clamped them in. Then i checked level and plum before tacking them in place. Then I dropped it in place to see how it sat. I would have liked to drop it down a couple inches over the tongue. But the way the front supports are bent, I couldnt get it lo enough. half way down didn't make any appreciable difference, So I left it full length. This almost perfectly lined it up with the top of the box and looks good and will be lo enough to use the coolers if left in place. I like how it came out! Next is a brace for the canoe racks!! the front is simple Simon. Just a "T" but the rear is going to come out of the receiver, rearward with a cradle for the seat of the canoe. So it will always be loaded the came. won't be able to shift front to back and should be safe. CW

Image Not Found I bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled It with seed. What a beauty of A bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a Week we had hundreds of birds Taking advantage of the Continuous flow of free and Easily accessible food. But then the birds started Building nests in the boards Of the patio, above the table, And next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was Everywhere: on the patio tile, The chairs, the table .. Everywhere! Then some of the birds Turned mean. They would Dive bomb me and try to Peck me even though I had Fed them out of my own Pocket. And others birds were Boisterous and loud. They Sat on the feeder and Squawked and screamed at All hours of the day and night And demanded that I fill it When it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even Sit on my own back porch Anymore. So I took down the Bird feeder and in three days The birds were gone. I cleaned Up their mess and took down The many nests they had built All over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like It used to be .... Quiet, serene.... And no one demanding their Rights to a free meal. Now let's see. Our government gives out Free food, subsidized housing, Free medical care and free Education, and allows anyone Born here to be an automatic Citizen. Then the illegal's came by the Tens of thousands. Suddenly Our taxes went up to pay for Free services; small apartments Are housing 5 families; you Have to wait 6 hours to be seen By an emergency room doctor; Your child's second grade class is Behind other schools because Over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a Bilingual box; I have to 'press one ' to hear my bank Talk to me in English, and People waving flags other Than 'Old Glory' are Squawking and screaming In the streets, demanding More rights and free liberties. Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government To take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, Just continue cleaning up the poop

MY LIVING WILL Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room and I said to them, “I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug”. They got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my beer. They are SO on my *$%# list… LOL.....

To you you did!! The reality of is it not not by a penny. The value assessment is assuming all parts is good working condition. Sorry man... CW

Its all in the build. (3/4 of the way down page 4) Short story. I used XJ leafs, the flex quite well and if I set them up as you would expect the shackle to be, it will snap over with as little as 4-5hundred pounds in the bed. This was I get over 1300lbs before it begins to get where you would expect it to be. The trailer is very light, Trailer springs are very stiff. Not so with the XJ leafs. I haven't had any issues with them snapping open, they don't get any shorter, but extend quite a bit when weight is added. I really need a longer shackle, but don't want it any higher.... CW

Thanks guys!! I spent about 4-5 hours last night and all I got was a bloody forehead! I have been chasing an electrical gremlin. the pass side stop lite doesn't work.... Tonight I decided even rhos everything was new last year, I would buy all new and re-install the lites and wiring. After I got everything pulled out I discovered the problem. Inside the tongue, where the bolt passes thru to stop the bed from swinging up. It must have nicked the wires and eventually cut the wire to the stop lite and damaged the one for the marker lites. Now I have a brandy new set of LED lites and they work perfectly!! Then my 3500Lb hubs arrived from Northern Hydraulics!! I had to throw back on the fenders and chop off the front edge for clearance. I will remove and re-install with the new axle later on. I have a "favor" to do with the trailer Sunday and don't need to get pinched for running without fenders. Just a bit "hack" but legal. . . CW

LOL, you gotta hear Ozzy!!! he is FUNNY!!! Any how, one of the biggest reasons I choose this model was because they stated its speaker was MUCH IMPROVED and an excellent choice for e open top vehicle... its OK, but because its rear firing, not as good as it could... I would LOVE a jack for an external speaker!! CW

Just to repeat, I didn't post this to be braggadocios. I know the age group here is much younger than I and simply wanted to try and impart some knowledge and experience. We know each other thru what we post here, we all have real lives and many do not recount them publicly. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement. I have worked with them for many years now. I am a firearms certified firearms instructor a certified NRA range officer, a coach and a armorer of a couple different makes, both pistol and shotgun. I have built, repaired and sold tens of thousands of firearms thru the years as a manager of two large local gun stores. I got out of the business of sales about 5 years ago when I went back to construction and now work as a building mechanic. I have dozens of very good friends in various departments both local and state in a couple different states. Some of these guys are the kind of friends I could call in the middle of the night, during there anniversary, holiday or kids birthday and have them on my door step with in a hour or so. I would do exactly the same for them, no questions asked. Mutual respect to say the least. Theirs is mostly a thankless job, this is a big part for the "good Ole boys mentality" and become Very Clicky. Because most every person a cop sees during the coarse of his day is some kind of a dirt bag, dregs of society. Many comment about there attitude when they are pulled over. People need to step back and realize these guys and gals take there lives in hand every time they pull someone over. They to never know who that person will be or what they may do or even what they may have just done! They know full well, people are capable of anything. Taking a command position and control of every situation is tantamount to doing there job safely. Dasbulliwagen, Of coarse it was brandishing, very foolish as well. Like I said he was young, cocky and I'm certain figured I would cower away with the mere sight of the firearm. The expression on his face when I responded that I didn't care what he had was draining or blank, all the "wind" was out of his sails. As for impersonation, he didn't say he was a cop. But the law reads something like if you respond in a way, because you think a person is a cop and that person leads you to believe he/she is a cop, then that person is impersonating a cop. I didn't intend on anything more than speaking my mind to the idiot. So altho I did "curtail" my responses, it's all I really wanted to do. MJ, "How did you know he was left handed" His pistol was on his left side, snapped, in a in-the-pants, waist-band holster, butt to the rear on his left side, Star/shield on the belt in front. In any situation, when the information you get by looking and observing can and does save your life. I look an entire room over, assess possible threats, exits and strong areas. I face the entrance/exits if at all possible. i listen to conversations and constantly access the changes in the area. Eagle, We have spoken on this topic... Yes he did urge me to pursue filing charges. I didn't get a badge number, I did see it it was right beside the pistol on his belt, under the shirt. It wasn't a regular shield either, not a star but was or did have small points on the top maybe three. I saw it when he first said "know what" and pulled the shirt up. I decided to let it go. Akula69, Thank you for the "police perspective"! CW

Guys I post this little story for you so maybe you will think twice before jumping out to "adjust: someone who wronged you out there... I don't tell you this to brag or try to impress, we are "friends here, I'm just trying to impress to possible finality of a split second decision that can change your life in an instant. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Here is a little story for you guys... I normally don't do this, but this guy really tweaked me. The other nite a guy cut me off, and then gave me a break job 2X! I pulled into on coming traffic and tromped on the MJ to get around him. (No one was coming and I could see better than a 1/4 mile ahead.) Well, he MJ is fairly quick for a 22year old 6cyl, but no match for the late 2000s Intrepid he was driving. So I pulled back in behind him and followed ... At the next light the road opened to two lanes and I pulled to the right and drove right by the guy, I looked at him as I did, but tinted window showed me nothing. At the next light, (100 yards from last) He gunned it and swerved and cut me off again!!! :headpop: :fs1: . I threw the truck in park and jumped out... I holler at him he is a AH and drives like a F-IN AH. . . I get to the side of his car, his window is down. The guy says, "know what?" and pulls up his shirt showing me a pistol! I tell him I don't give a F%$K if you have a gun, pull it out and lets see what happens! He is surprised to say the least, and as I am in a "command" position and notice he is left handed. Then he tells me he has a badge too! Then call him a AH and say something like " BIG surprise, another COP that cannot drive"! He tells me I should get back in my car! We exchange some more words, I suggest we visit the local PD. he repeats that I should get back in my car. I am really fuming... I get back in as I do, he peels out, pulling away. I get to thinking, NO WAY he was a cop. I'm thinking corrections officer. Cocky, young and a AH for sure. My pop was there and asked what I would have done if he did pull the pistol. My instant response was, "Take it away from him" The look on his face when I responded to his proclaiming then showing the piece was shock. I noticed he was lefty and kinda cramped in the car. NO WAY he could get that pistol out before I would have had it and he was smart enough to see the weakness of his position and the error of his ways. The look on his face was dismay. On the way home, I called up a good friend on the department in that town, a Sargent. I recited this story to him. We spoke on this for some time. I am not pursuing anything more with this. I just want to mention it as I am sure many of you guys get pissed just like me and want to kick some @$$. But you never know what that driver is carrying or capable of. This is one place where turning the other cheek is GOOD ADVICE!! I was very lucky he wasn't crazy or drugged. Cooler heads prevail... It's not cowderess, its not a matter of whose tougher or more macho. Let those people go, get away from them, don't confront them, you have no way of knowing who or what they are or what they are capable of at that time. Simply said, its not worth it! CW

Last week I had to "whip" my MJ a bit.. Tacked it up and burnt a plug or three... She got some NEW PLUGS, a CAP and a ROTOR!! The plugs where not aweful.. but the cap n rotor was shot!!! CW

True to form, I JUST herd back from Auburn on swapping the ECTED... :headpop: It's been almost two weeks since contacting them about the D-REX swap.... I F'IN HATE this companies customer service!!!!! To steal a term from my niece, I am SO "done" with Auburn as a company! :fs1: CW

Howdy neighbor! Sorry I missed your post?? Wallingford area here!! I got the 33" mounted up today. I put them on but the fenders aren't going to work as they are... I also scored a BRAND NEW 3500lb axle, springs, hanger kit, 10" electric brakes and hubs... 50$!!! :brows:  :brows:  SO, its going under the knife so to speak... Getting the new axle that's also wider by almost 7". If you remember I am running 2.5" spacers on this axle to get 61" WMS. The new axle should be just shy of 63" WMS/WMS. Another NICE addition, I will no longer need the spacers!!! I am going to look into mounting a shortened fender to the axle, so I can keep it tite to the tire, and never worry about contact. Then add flaps out back for safety. Stay tuned...the trailer is getting modded!! CW

Well, I have had the new unit a couple days and have used it for a couple short in state trips. I like the new software, its "cleaner" than the old one on my ONE XL. My one complaint is one of the vary things i chose this unit... sound quality. I have a TJ and its topless most of the time. (Why have a wrangler with a top???) The sound is not appreciably better than the ONE XL. Its adequate, not better. Overall I like the unit! Thanks for the tips!! CW

I am glad to hear you say that. I tell everyone that and they look at me like I am insane. Detroits rock  YEA BABY!!!

Mine is a LWB auto. Its AWESOME!! I wish I had done this from the start!! its 99% Invisible. Even when it shows itself, its a chirp chirp chirp in a corner. No clunks while driving... yet. I do get a clunk going from drive to reverse. Its EXTREMELY street-able with my combo. Would likely be just as good in a SWB, slightly more apparent in a stick. I ran one for a couple years in a 300HP 302 V8 1978 Mustang King Cobra. It was also very street-able, but much louder in turns. Just the click click click of the dog teeth riding over each other. This Detroit is "soft locker" technology and its very quiet! I haven't herd it click at all. I have had a couple Lock-rites and EZ-Locker and a AUSSIE. ALL where very noticeable with the click click noise in turns NOT under power. I COMPLETELY and wholeheartedly recommend it!! as a matter of a fact, if you local enough I'll let you drive it. You can see for yourself!! CW
