  1. Problem solved..........bad coil. I replaced the coil a few years ago with an aftermarket unit when I couldn't find a previous no-start that was a combo of eroded negative battery cable and starter relay. Fortunately I kept the OE one just in case.
  2. Does not crank in neutral. @13volts at starter relay
  3. Yes. All lights working, interior, dash, radio etc........
  4. Got a no crank issue out of nowhere. I've done all the grounding tips from Cruiser, upgraded battery cables. Good voltage at battery and starter relay. Pulled starter solenoid wire off relay and starter engages when connected direct to battery, so I it seems I can eliminate batter, starter relay and starter/starter solenoid as the culprit. Would a bad CPS have no crank? IIRC a bad CPS will still crank but not fire. Since it won't turn over I can't check voltage on the CPS, to my knowledge. Thinking bad ignition switch or NSS. Looking for advice on other things to check. I have a spare coil I will swap in too.

  6. Thanks for all the info guys!
  7. What year(s) were the bad heads on the XJ's? Kicking around getting one for my son to replace my MJ as his DD. Looked at a 99 tonight w/183k, asking $3k. Thanks
  8. Looks great. Your truck reaffirms my opinion that 32/11.50's are the perfect size on an MJ. I like 33/10.50's too, but that extra bit of meat on the 11.50's fills it out so well.
  9. The wagon wheels are perfect on that color combo...well done
  10. Yeah, not looking forward to having to do it. I let my son use it as his daily while he's away at school so I can't just park it and keep soaking it in penetrating oil for days.
  11. I will be doing the same very soon, what extractor kit did you use and more importantly, what size is the manifold bolt? Thanks!
  12. Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
  13. I certainly thought so, common sense would suggest that also. Found a vid that said they should be torqued to @14ft/lbs........Done.
  14. Going to install "The Cure" from Ruff Stuff today, and when I unbolted my tie rod it spun freely in the adjuster sleeeve/clamp on the opposite end where you adjust the length. I'm assuming this should not be the case? I did not install the new components when I upgraded to ZJ V8 units, but I have always been under the impression this was to be clamped down once you've adjusted your tie rod length.
  15. I have an exhaust manifold stud broken off, closest to the firewall OF COURSE, and am looking for the size/specs of that part to replace it. Thanks!
  16. Torq, you may have, they get random stuff from dealer buyouts etc and sometimes very limited quantities, could have sold out fast. No worries.......
  17. I have bought many things from TeamCherokee over the years, especially small bits and pieces such as these. Not too long ago I actually looked at every single thing available on their site and bought several small items to have as "extras" or knowing they were hard to get or specs may be hard to match from a hardware store. For good measure, I just looked again at everything available that is Cherokee related and they do not have these. Thanks though......
  18. Yeah, I just had a Lares reman unit put it. I think there is still air in it, need to take it back to the shop. It has a lot more resistance than the old box and sometimes it feels like it has lots of assist and other times it is very stiff. Fyi....you can get a brand new Lares box from RockAuto for @$350. If mine doesn't improve after I take it back to the shop, I may return it and get a brand new one. Fortunately I grew up with the guy that owns the shop so he'll spend the time to make it right if it's just air in the line and not a bad reman unit.
  19. Was it brand new or rebuilt/reman'd? And what brand is in there now?
  20. In need of 2-4 of the metal retaining clips that lock the switch module to the switch trim. Part # J4006546. Thanks!
  21. Now if you had put Little Enos in there you would have been dead on LOL! I'm built more like him.
  22. Quite possibly the worst photoshop ever
