He's a member here who works at the parts department at a Jeep dealer in FLA and can get a decent discount on dealer items.

I personally bought mine from NAPA a year back. Retail price was $57 I got it for $40. I wouldn't recomend it to you only because I've had an incredibel amount of problems with NAPA's parts recently and even tho my TPS seems to be working fine I'm waiting for the day it goes poof.

BLHTAZ has one for sale in the classifieds. You can try your local parts store but my personal experience is to avoid anything ,especially electrical that says MADE IN CHINA. I've seen em anywhere from $40-$100+.

And here is a real good way to fix this. Anybody have MO's 3" rear springs? And if you do can you please measure to see what number you come up with?
-
Guys, I didn't mean to start a fight here but isn't it completely possible that this ONE set of springs is somewhat deffective causing the 1" differnce.
-
Anyway, it looks good. So is your front higher or lower than the rear now with the shackles? I can't tell that well from the pics.

I know ECU's "nearly" never go bad, BUT...

I also want to add for anyone reading this in the future to go and buy the negative battery cable that bolts to the engine AND has the second wire running to the fender to add an additional ground. This little wire fixed a lot of driveability problems my Comanche had. One of these days I'll get around to snapping a pic. -
IAC is on the left. The TPS is the sensor on the right.
-
TB, yes throttle body. TPS is the sensor that sits right next to the IAC. (Throttle Position Sensor) There is a TB Cleaner that is safe to use with vehicles equiped with an O2 sensor. I understand you didn't disconnect anything else but follow every vaccum line in the area and make sure they are connected to something. I've hit the vac line on the intake manifold by mistake a couple times, disconnecting it and getting a high idle from it. Lastly is is possible that you cleaned up the plate in the TB but gummed up everything under it with crap dripping and you could have plugged up the IAC hole or fried the TPS. Wait for someone else's opinion because I'm not an expert by any means but after checking the vac lines again I'd take the TB off comepletely, clean it really well, checking where the IAC goes and then put everything back together. Remember you have to adjust the TPS with either a scanner or a multimeter. If you run a search on this forum there's a couple places the directions are described or somebody might be able to link it for you. I'll see if I can get you a picture of the TPS.
-
Did you remove the TB when you cleaned it? Is it possible you haven't hooked one of the vac lines back up? Did you remove the TPS when you cleaned it?

I like the gun rack. Where did you get that?
-
So did you ever figure out why 3" springs gave you only 2"?

Yep, I know, I parked it last week when I actually saw the balancer coming apart and talked to Taz about it. I keep having these nightmares about the balancer coming off, the crankshaft blowing out of the block, going thru the rad, and impaling some blind old guy sitting on a corner asking fer spare change. I've got to switch to decaf. -

I think we might have figured this out. The harmonic balancer is coming apart. I'm waiting for a new one from BLHTAZ that should be here this week and I'll see if it fixes the prob. I'll keep you guys updated. -

How about something being wrong with the throttle body itself. Hopefully the ECU fixes the problem but I'm just throwing out ideas (trying to make my $64.99 back) Anyway goodluck  -
At least your "research" popped up something other than XXX... Granted that pic is probably PG, but at least good to know you can find stuff other than Pr0n yep, thaT picture popped up when I had my parental control blocker turned on. You should have seen the pics of Wahoo when I had the sucker turned off  :ack:  :clapping: And no you dirty bastards. :needpics: WILL NOT DO AT ALL :rotfl2:

So I'm researching "yuppie" on the net today and a good picture popped up. This poor yuppie has nothing going for him besides the fact he has two beautiful kids. And did you guys notice the horrible inflamation from the blowfish attack in Georgia? Poor guy  On to more important issues. Rob, just walk into the shop. Tell that guy you actually looked at the axle when you got home and realized everything was wrong with it. Make sure you sound real intelligent and mention everything everyone told you on here. Here's my best yuppie impersonation Rob: "Dude, I actually looked at the axle when I got home and it's for sure fubared. Did you even take a look at it before you sold it to me?" Guy: "Listen yuppie, you bought it, it's yours." Rob: "Seriously maan. This thing is shot. I brought it back just to show you I'm not blind, dumb, or stupid. The only thing this is good for is a lawn ornament and my yuppie wife only likes those little bloody knomes. Let's make a deal. You're a Reputable Jeep Shop, right? Help me get this rusty piece of $#!& off my bed, call the scrap guy and see how much he'll give you for it. Then schedule an appointment and drop some new gears in my D30 to match my rear axle. You've already got $250 from me and I'll throw in another $120 (or some amount you find fair). You still get paid, I get the gears I want, and my pain in the @$$ wife has more room for those stupid little knomes. What do you say?" Guy: "I could say go @#$% yourself. But the truth is I'll take your deal because not only am I going to keep your $250 but I'll make a little extra cash on the job and I still get to sell that POS axle to someone who's not part of the Comanche Club. That and I know you'll give out my number on the net and Chico and Wahoo will call me 134 times a day to tell me how much of an a$$hole I am until I finally give in and accept your deal. So why put up with the hassle. Drop the axle off out back and bring your truck back in a week and we'll put those new gears in for you." Rob: "Dude, that's cool. Would you like me to bring you back a Latte when I come back next week?" Guy: "That would be swell!"

B, Did you make sure the throttle cable wasn't getting stuck causing the engine to actually run at 3500 RPM? -
Another speedometer cable question?
chicofuentes0224 replied to xj_dummy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It goes into your speedo gear in your transfer case. -

So Chico, does this mean you would put woodgrain shelf paper on yours after painting it PennDOT Orange? :D ABE-SO-LOOT-LEE!!! Then I'd add a gun rack, spray paint my bling-bling rims camo, and add enough lights to brighten up a small stadium. I'm the only redneck spic you know baby :rotfl2:
