  1. Well, that escalated quickly.
  2. Time to get busy, it's never gonna look like this again.
  3. Thanks guys, this little rig has the cleanest unibody I've ever seen and with the exception of the driver's floor pan it's completely rust free. It runs great and within a few minutes of rolling it off the trailer I put it to work helping me clean the garage.
  4. After selling "Chief" a couple years ago I've been looking for a new MJ. I've been pretty picky but I finally found the perfect donor. This little machine is as stripped as they get, heck it doesn't even have power steering. The plan is a complete 98 conversion, 37's, 44hp front and 8.8 rear, homemade 3 link front suspension, RCV's ect, ect, ect. My plan is to make a street-able Expedition rig to drive out to run the Rubicon Trail next July. This is what it looked like when I pulled in to pick it up. Can't wait to get started.
  5. Thanks Shelby.... a buddy of mine did the rear and cab section but I did the front with a manual bender. A few pics of Chief working some of the bigger ledges in IVY..... I was really happy with how it performed. I pulled ledges with 38's and 1/2 ton axles that I've seen scores of big rigs and buggies fail at.
  6. Thanks brother..... loading in the morning and heading to IVY..... can't wait.....
  7. Right on.... thanks Outlaw Star..... Once I finish up this truggy I'll start looking for another Comanche. I plan on building the same rig except with a bench seat and keeping the Dana 30 and probably a 8.8 out back. Tires will definately be 35 Cepek Curshers on a black wheel with 5.5 up front with a SOA out back. I was thinking going white with maybe a Baja theme.... does anyone remember the Baja S10 from the late 80's? Always liked that truck.
  8. Haha..... Willy has been keeping up with his reading. But sadly this is the last update to this post.....I traded my MJ to my brother a couple months ago even up for his little XJ truggy below. I Kept my wheels, tires and axles but everything else went. It's been a hard couple months but I think I'm pretty much done with it. I really hated to get rid of my MJ but without an EXO it was quickly becoming a raisin. Here is my new rig. I still stop by and check out the Comanches.... Heck I'm already looking for one to make a DD.
  9. Hah.... yes it does.... you gotta use alot of wheel speed.....

    BRRRRR

Exercise "Teamwork 93"... this exercise was held in the North Atlantic in February. They had us out shoveling snow off the flight deck of the USS Guadalcanal.... My shovel handle froze to my glove. :)
  11. Nice find.... looks just like mine. Very Cool......
  12. My buddy just posted this video from last weekend... this shows how steep muddy it was, this TJ is running 38.5 TSL SX's locked on both ends and still has a hard time getting out.
  13. Thanks everyone.... but I just put the rims up on craigslist for sale along with my Military Oz tires. Found a guy with a 91 Comanche that's been wrecked in the front. he's already pulled the motor and is planning to cut the frame off the back and make a trailer out of it and the bed. I'm trying to talk him into selling me the whole truck as is. So I need the cash.... hopefully I can talk some sense into this guy.
  14. Here's a video of my buddy running a trail named KB in IVY last weekend. It's not an MJ but worth the watch....
  15. Sweet.... thanks guys.
  16. I know I could look it up but also wanted your guy opinion..... I will probably go pick up a 91 4.0 MJ 2wd with a 5 speed. Is this a AX5? I'll convert it over to 4wd auto but was wondering if the trans was worth anything?
  17. Right on.... We have a big ride on March 14th next year called the IVY Invasion or anytime is cool with me..... I love wheeling with other MJ's
  18. Headed down to IVY over the weekend to participate in a Toys for Tots ride. It had rained the entire week prior to and on and off the day of the event. Needless to say it was muddy so we didn't take alot of pics. We did have over 30 rigs show up and we collected a ton of toys. I also won a hat, tshirt and 100.00 gift card from Badd @$$ Jeeps. Score!!!!
  19. Its funny you mentioned Wellsville.... I was talking to Donnie from Ohio OffRoad just today about planning a trip up there this spring.
  20. Now I really like those....
  21. Right on..... cool pic. I'll proabably go ahead and mount up the tires the way they are. If I hate it I can just tape them off and paint them later.... thanks to everyone for the input.
  22. Isn't it amazing how well out trucks flex out..... I noticed your in Southwest Ohio.... you should try and come down to IVY Branch sometime and wheel with us. Live the truck... keep those pics coming.
  23. Heheheh.... it's true that mine is a little "Different"
