bpm4x4 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
98 xj non disco standard diff 3.55 gears I also have the part nunbers for the axles. I think this is also available through Dana's web site :hateputers:  -

I am running 15x10 wheels with allied beadlocks (no pics yet). I don't think they are offset at all. I am not very concerned about the local laws, I would just ask the officer to take a look at the lowriders. I am going to make an effort to cover them a little with some TJ flares, but for the most part this will be a trailer queen. :chillin: I was wanting to see some rear trim jobs too, but as far as the front goes I will trim as instructed. I bought the wheels and tires as a set (of 5) and got a good deal on them, the prior owner wheeled them for 5 years, but they are still in great shape. -
Just park it at my place, I got room.

Ditto. ditto ditto I went to Husky spring today and that's what they gave me. The gap is within 1/8 inch I may try to find a tube or bushing to put in there, but if I can't find one, I am just going to use it as is. ok next question: what diameter is a 9" axle tube (the answer is not 9") off a 79 Bronco (I am thinking 3.25 inches or close). The 3" u-bolts did not fit. the top plate is going to be made out of 3/8 steel, I think that is strong enough.

So I am finally doing the SOA rear, and I got the Mopar spring pads (as mentioned in another post, my cost $7.50). The center hole in the spring pad is kind of big, and I am wondering if the head of the bolt (the bolt that holds the pack together) is supposed to be about the same size as that hole (to keep the rear axle tracking straight). And since I am putting in a 9", should I upgrade the diameter of the new u bolts? Brian

I agree, I have a 9" rear in my MJ, and a dana 44 front out of a waggy (I converted the front to match the rear wheel bolt pattern). I was chasing parts all the time and am still not done. :hateputers:

that's it, and it has a topper

I can't believe that I am admitting this, but in the first scene of the movie "Rent" there is a Comanche in the background, in a lot of shots during that scene. Yes, I sat on the couch and watched "Rent" with my wife   instead of working on the Comanche  :headpop:

I lost again :headpop:

My stickers are bieng held to the file cabinet (next to the computer) with the magnets. :hateputers:

I am sure that bracket kit is better than the Rubicon Express kit (I had to open everything up to fit in the 44, I am sure the kit would have worked fine with a 30)

My local Car Quest has a push-pull switch that is normal sized, but rated for 75 amps! I agree with Pete though, put in a relay and a maxi fuse at the power source.
-
I got that one and showed it to a friend of mine, he said that it was exactly like the AA kit. We just put it in a week ago, and I have not tried it yet (I don't have a rear axle in there yet).

They tried to tell me that even though the two oils were different viscositys, they were very similar. I am going to get some GL 3, but not from the dealer.
-
i just got off the phone with the dealer (trying to find out the correct oil for my 94-95ish AX-15) and they said GL3, but checked on something and said it is now supposed to take 10-30. So what should I put in this thing?
