Pete M Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 clutch or gear driven? It's in a Ford 9". I know the gears are aftermarket, but I can't say for sure if the posi is or not. I bought the complete third member a couple years ago as you see it. It looks nothing like the gigantic clutch posi housing in an Explorer 8.8
Car RamRod Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 looks open to me. but I've never seen a factory 9" anyways.
Pete M Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 Definitely not open. I shoved 2 axle shafts in it and they turn together.
Geonovast Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Definitely not open. I shoved 2 axle shafts in it and they turn together. I know. Just saying, it looks similar to an open diff, so it's probably a clutch posi. Unless someone welded it?
bryans87MJ Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Looks like a spool to me but I am not familiar with the F 9".
