skimore11
These are the best price I have seen by far and nicely done. I am going to buy these if I decide I want side protection and a step. http://www.inchwormgear.com/store/produ ... cts_id=935 Otherwise I will just build my own with one rail tight to the pinch seam. 87manche
mine were made/modified out of those with PInch seam attachment and 4 legs. Mine are the 78" variety because I'm a LWB. If you've got a SWB then check out Mark are www.detoursusa.com Mine were made as a special order by Brian here: www.cherokee-nation.com Pics of mine. These two are very big http://nsjames.net/comanche/DSCF0500.JPG http://nsjames.net/comanche/DSCF0501.JPG
attaboybob
Does anyone make a "slider" for the lower rear panel? It hits when you come off a good size rock or ledge. ...BOB
87manche
I think Detour is working on that, I saw a picture of one of his MJ bumpers and it was awesome, plating over the rear quarter.
89Tonto
I ended up buying a set of RE? rock rails/sliders for a XJ at a swap meet. Since I have a SWB, I ended up modifing the mounting points so they would fit better and match the profile of the MJ. They saved the MJ rockers out in Colorado 5+years ago. ;)
Oizarod115
Does anyone make a "slider" for the lower rear panel? It hits when you come off a good size rock or ledge. ...BOB sounds like you need a custom rear bumper tied into the "frame" that comes up along the rear. thats what I'm gettin made by a shop down here
Detour
Not sure if Matt posted any pics of his rig here, since it left my shop......but this is a good shot of the SWB slyders we offer along with our rear bumper we'll be offering, it'll come with the lower rocker protection..... Working on LWB..... :brows:
attaboybob
Detours, keep us posted on the lower (rear) panel protection. ...BOB
87manche
Detours, keep us posted on the lower (rear) panel protection. ...BOB no doubt, I've found that it's very vulnerable.
Detour
Its my best guess by 'lower rear' your refering to this area... That area will be part of the bumper.......an independent pcs, armor by itself would look abit 'assey' due to the wrap around fade away contour which falls behind the bumper......Maybe theres away to pull off a good looking pcs, have to wait & see. This area cleans up pretty good with alil armor... Cab corners a pretty tough, but we'll see what happens... :chillin:
attaboybob
Detours, that is exactly what I am interested in. the piece in the forward part of the bed looks good too. ...BOB
rbostoncaxjmj
Hey that looks great Detour! Put me on the list for your LWB rear bumper, and rock slyders when ready for sale Is that a 2" hitch receiver in the center? What's the tow rating, and do you slip the hitch pin behind the bumper? Thx! Ron
Detour
Yes, thats how I place the 2" recievers in the bumpers for XJ/MJ and most other custom applications. As far as a 'true rating', you can only get that by supplying your parts to an independent lab, have them destroy parts, then supply rating...... not going to happen... I will say, just like I tell the XJ crowd....small trailer, 2 ATV's, small boat, small landscaping trailer...small 'newer' pop-up camper.....should all be fine, and they have been to this day to the best of my knowledge. :USAflag:

pingpong
back glass, or zip tied to the tail gate handle
Detour
Typically, the 'L' plate gets worked in with the spare, the bumpers have thus far been built on a custom basis, so....I was able to work with the individuals as far as placement went. But....I see a possible hitch insert to retain your plate.......a bracket mount for behind the drivers head area......tailgate mount?
