JeepcoMJ
I'm trying to think of things i can pour into my cab corners to remove any stint of rust in there. i don't trust the "spray the rust and it'll convert" crap they're selling. oh, the paint is coming off down there when i replace the small chunk anyways, so IDC about paint for the bottom 7" of the truck. anyone think muriatic acid would work? jtdesigns
I've used it before.. works like a charm on surface rust.. Never used it on bad rust though.. Its a wipe on rinse off thing.
DirtyComanche
If you leave it on there long term it will do bad things, AFAIK.

DirtyComanche
I think you could do it then flush it out. But you've got to do a really good job of getting it off. I know when they dip cars/parts then normally pressure wash them like crazy afterwards to make sure they're completely clean. I'd probably spray it with zinc chromate afterwards. brigarpeon
It'll work like a charm. I used to use it to clean steam boiler elements of hard water chemical build up. The heater cores were copper, around a ten to fifteen minute submersion bath in Muratic acid would eat away most of the build up. Had to follow up on the tuffer spots with a brass brush in the Muratic bath. All it did to the copper was shine it up. Rubber gloves, goggles and a respirator are required. Since Muratic acid is 100% water soluable all you need is a 10 minute flush and your done. Warm water works best but cold will get it done just use more.
