Have you pulled the radio and checked for power and ground on the connector? Should be like this:

Pin 4 (Pink): 12V constant

Pin 5 (Vio/Wht): Ignition Switched 12V

Ground attached to a lug on the chassis

checked fuse and ground...both good

no its a aftermarket PIONEER CD player

like i said it was perfect b4 all this and for some reason it just won't turn on...i can't for the life of me figure out why??

proly got a blown speaker or grounding speaker wire, un plug the head unit entirly then plug it back in, should come on breifly

you can check the speaker wires individualy for continuity against the body (should not have continuity)

i found that one of the terminals on a 6x9 was broke and grounding to the speaker frame

yaya the splling sux cuz i just rolled outa bed and dontb care

if you take a volt meter to the constant and the switched wires to ground, you should have voltage on both. if everything is good, then I'd say blown radio. if speakers we're blown the radio would still power up, just not produce sound. same thing goes for speaker wires that are grounding out.

could be the ignition switch. check on top of ur steering column. there should be a blue plug/connector. i had the same problem, and it turned out the plug was melted.

geez, when i fried my ignition switch my truck would just shut off at random, of course this happend hours from home and i was forced to leap frog all the way back.

ignition switch was already replaced when i tightened up the tilt mechanism bolts along with the tumbler....i have the radio out of the truck and am going to check for voltage and the grounds tomorrow

It's not the ignition switch, speakers, etc. Turn on the key w. the radio removed and check the following pins on the radio harness plug (if it's still there):

Pin 4 (Pink): 12V constant

Pin 5 (Vio/Wht): Ignition Switched 12V

Ground attached to a lug on the chassis
