There is a Linkage rod from the Rear Diff Cover to a Vac can mounted on the frame rail......What the hell is that?

 

No matter what it is, its coming off.

Thats a payload brake proportional valve... more you weigh the truck down the more it pushes the rod up ,, the more it pushes the rod up the more brake line pressure it gives the rear brakes.!!

Try to make sure the swing arm up is tied up securely and remains about parallel with the ground. Otherwise you could lose your rear brakes.

most have just reran the lines or taken that original tee and looped it back into the existing line.
