POR-15 is a urethane coating that is Painted Over Rust. There’s a cleaner that should be used before application.

Thanks. I just ordered the degreaser, metal prep, and clear coating. Apparently this stuff is hard to find locally.

What do I need to know before I use this stuff? Do I need to pull out all of the old sealer and apply some fresh sealer? I'm spending a lot of money on sound dampening materials, so I don't want to make any mistakes here.

I would leave the seam sealer alone if there isn't any sign of rust.  if there's any hint of rust at the edge of some sealer, I would use a wire brush on a drill or grinder to explore how far it goes.

keep in mind that preventing water intrusion is the single most important step to preventing rot. :L:   the floors are complicated and you cannot rustproof every nook and crevice.  heck, if it stays dry, you can leave it completely alone and it'll be just fine forever :D
