Dark Sand Interior Color Question

I also have a '92 MJ with the "Dark Sand" interior color.

 

Boy, the color of the '92 dash board looks like the earlier model colors "Tan" or "Sand" to me. Did the "Dark Sand" color only apply to the plastic interior trim pieces and not the dash board?

Could just be sun faded.

Derf, yeah, I'm sure there has been fading over the years.

 

What I'm asking is, if different interior colors over the years apply to the dash, the trim only, or both.

From what I’ve encountered it will depend. Charcoal has like 2 or 3 different grays. 
 

Almond in my XJ was a similar case. The almond for most of the interior was light. The dash and console are darker than the rest. You can usually see such on the back side of the parts your restoring of what the color should be since it was not exposed by the light.
