TheSiLvAPython
My truck came with 3.07 gears in the rear axle, can I buy a new ring and pinion that is 3.55s and install without issues or do I need a new carrier?
derf
A Dana 35 break is between 3.31 and 3.55 so you would need a new carrier for it. Either that or thick cut 3.55 gears if they make those. The dana 44 break is between 3.73 and 3.92 so you're good there. The AMC 20 has a break between 2.73 and 3.08 so you would be good there. That's the 3 axles that came from the factory. TheSiLvAPython
Dang, okay thank you. Yeah I have a dana 35 I forgot to mention that. Sucks that 3.07s cost way more than some other ratios.
ghetdjc320
here’s your 3.08 gears. Same price as any other. Just far less popular a ratio to swap https://revolutiongear.com/revolution-gear-ring-pinion-for-dana-35-3-08-5-13-ratio/
