knever3 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 I have a Stant pressure tester, but don't have the required adapter to go to the traditional radiator cap. I have seen one FZ25 cap adapter, but at $41 I could almost buy an entire 25 piece kit with a pump. I am sure to use it on more vehicles in the future, but don't really NEED it at this time. I would like to pressure my system up to see if I have any leaks since I smell coolant. Please post links.
glundblad Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 I know this isnt what you asked for but I was curious if your '87 loses coolant? I bought my '87 new. It used coolant every since I bought it. I took it in several times but finally I gave up and top it off every so often.
robfg67 Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 I've tested my RENIX stock coolant system recently. I went down to the local auto parts store to rent the complete tool for nothing. Why don't you do the same?
watchamakalit Posted December 16, 2025 Posted December 16, 2025 I spent several years adding coolant to my truck, not knowing where it was going. No signs anywhere of a leak. Finally purchased myself a coolant system pressure tester. Found out the upper clamp on the lower hose would weep coolant ever so slightly, but only 6-8psi or greater system pressure. . New clamp and steady coolant levels now.
