MiNi Beast Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 What year dodge 1500 was it to be able to use the brake lines?
CWLONGSHOT Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I and many others have used a mid 90's DAKOTA rear brake line. CW
MiNi Beast Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 so 94 Dakota rear brake lines for my 6.5 inch lift on the front?
Pete M Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 The Dakota line is for the rear. YJ lines are longer than stock MJ fronts, but I'm not sure if they are quite long enough.
mjeff87 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 at 6", the YJ lines are not long enough....I put them on mine. But, I've already bought them ($23 each from NAPA), and they're brand new lines, so I'm gonna keep them and either extend them with some hard lines, or relocate the frame brackets down a couple inches. I'd say they would be good for up to 4-4.5". Jeff edit: the Dakota rear line suffices for the rear, but could stand to be longer as well (again, would work fine for up to maybe 4.5"). I'm gonna drop the hardline in the rear also for more, and also unbolt the e-brake cables from the little clips that hold them to the underside of the bed. The stock ones are barely long enough....
CWLONGSHOT Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I was at 6.5 up front... now close to 5.5. But with DB's need the extra legnth. I have 4" extended YJ lines and they are PLENTY long!! CW
MiNi Beast Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 going to be running long arm set up so gonna need the length. So I guess I'll just get what 22" or 24" lines? That should be good for 6.5'' LA setup.
mjeff87 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I bent the metal part of them some, but not nearly as straight as you did CW......I'll try bending them a bit more :D Jeff
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I run 27" long one's in the front and a 20" long one in the rear and I think I have enough for 10" of lift and longarms. I've had to strap them up. But I'd rather them be to long than not long enough. Got them here: http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index. ... ucts_id=10
