Two weeks ago, a septuagenarian totaled my '89.  Still working with insurance, but also planning ahead. I have a Skyjacker 3" lift with disconnects I installed it in 2004, but I do not see if offered today? Did they discontinue it? Sites I go to only go back to '91 and no Comanche's.

In case it is discontinued, what are the general recommendations these days for mild lifts and a good ride?

Since you're in Roanoke, I'd at least stop by and have a chat with the folks at 501 Shenandoah Ave NW. Are you buying your MJ back from the insurance company or (?)

Ironrock offroad is solid for kits and the price, I run their 3" on my WJ and have had a bunch of their parts over the years. Rubicon express might still be around for XJ/MJ. I personally would piece a lift together. Coils look at BDS or metal cloak, shocks, bili or fox, trackbar either IRO or Ironman, control arms, core, trailforged, iro or any others that use decent joints and bushings.  Rear leafs are limited but at 3" should be able to get away with shackles or AAL.

Thanks for the 411, I'll look them up. Just spoke to the insurance company today, waiting on their papers, they offered 13K with buy-back. may be what I need to get it back on the road?

This is not a bad idea piecing together, I'm hoping some parts can be salvaged. I did like the ride I had, firm but not too hard on edges. I see in your profile you have a 'bumping system'. What did you have?  Mine was stolen a few years ago during Covid, I miss it dearly and want to put one in better. I had an old Kicker Solobaric that did well and moved a lot of air, but they do not sell that model anymore, so I feel like I'm starting over.

I put in a  Kenwood Excelon KMM 705 deck, kicker speakers all around, kicker 8" sub behind the center console powered by a 5 ch amp. I really need to put sound deadener but does well. 8" sub is decent but there are times I wish I had more bass. Depends on what I'm listening too though. Hip hop or big bass it doesn't like but with the rock/metal/punk does perfect. Especially if I'm listening to something with blistering fast bass, double bass kick, bass solos, etc sounds great and tight.

Which kicker sub are you using? Amp size?  I had one 8" and 300W going to it but I'm thinking of going to a 10" or maybe two 8"s. That slot in the middle behind the seat worked great, box never moved when banging around in the bush and with a little design, two could fit back there.
