rear fender flare removal

How do the plastic flares come off of the fender? I only feel 3  "screws? " and they don't seem to have nuts on them.

There should be studs with nuts on them every few inches inside the wheel well.

There are three steel retainers each with three threaded studs. The nuts (10mm??) may have sunk past the plastic inner fender splash guard

The three steel retainers have (3) M6 studs welded on each. The fenders are held in by 10mm M6 flanged head nuts.

Make sure to use PB blaster on these studs if you are trying to disassemble. The studs commonly shear clean off on nut removal and you are left with no way of re-mounting the fender flares, unless you have a stud welder.

If you get lucky, apply anti-seize.
