comanche project gone bad.

Recommended Posts

I have a 1991 Comanche 2wd short bed that i bought at an auction about 8 yrs ago. The plan was to do a low budget upgrade with 1998 cherokee interior and drivetrain parts. Went about things all backwards without thinking. The 98 dash is almost done installed. Had it hauled to my shop in town and the frame started coming apart while loading onto tow truck. Last summer I put it on hoist to see what things really looked like. The front went up and the rear wheels never left the ground. Right behind the cab the frame folded and I'm sure you guys have seen this before on others. I'm bailing out of this and so disgusted I could take it to the scrap yard if it wasn't blocked in. Sorry for the long winded story but before I go crazy with the sawzall, is there any parts that are worth taking off to sell like body parts, interoir parts, flares? Thanks in advance for any help.

Pretty much all of the interior trim pieces are worth pulling, the rear window, exterior b pillar trim, rear fender flares, tailgate, rear bumper and brackets, pretty much anything that isn’t the same as an XJ part is worth saving.

and even some of the things that are the same are worth pulling

pics of how bad the frame is?

if you intend to seek out another MJ, you might want to wait on parting that one out.  there's no telling what you might need on the next

thanks for the replies. Thats good advice to save those parts. I've always been a pack rat anyways. I think i will keep track of the ads for one thats not too far rotten. Around here people want insane money for those. I'll get some pics of this truck and post them later on.
