Wounded_Fighter Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Fired the parts cannon Parts cannon fired back. New crank, bearings, etc. Tq to spec 80ftlb, in tq order. Harmonic balancer bolt over-torques before crank will spin. ( no pistons or anything else on yet ) Plastiguage set at 0.003 all the way down the crank. Stumped. Thoughts? Help...?
Spinnakerblue89 Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Just food for thought, are you certain it isn't an electrical or sensorial problem? What exactly happens when you try to start the truck, walk us through the things you see and hear, please.
Eagle_SX4 Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 I don't have much experience with engine building. However it would help to find out which bearing(s) is causing the issue. Loosen all the caps and then torque one cap at a time and check rotation and figure out if it is just one bearing causing the issue or all of them.

BTW, I assume the OP has slathered all the crank journals with assembly lube or, at the least, motor oil.
speeding_infraction Posted June 6, 2025 Posted June 6, 2025 https://www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/engine/explaining-under-and-oversized-engine-bearings-with-king-bearings/ Make sure your bearings are all the right size.
