Finally got my speedometer working perfect

Now when its hot outside the needle is bouncing

But when its cool outside it is perfect any ideas?

How much is it bouncing? Some of that is just old speedometer and speedometer cable.

Your inner cable is probably to long. It expands and lengthens when hot. I had the same issue with the cable in my Eagle. I trimmed it down a bit on the end. The issue has gone away.

I am afraid of that plastic clip on the instrument cluster will break again I ground it down when I installed it this will be the 2nd cable no matter how careful I am it breaks but I’ll try

If you have a plastic tip by the speedometer then don't pull the cable out of that side just pull the cable off the transfer case and grind that side down.

I don't know if its normal or not, but I can say every xj/mj ive had the speedometer bounces.. I may try Eagles suggestion and trim down the t case side a little bit and see what happens..

Well it definitely works I promise but on a 2nd the transmission end becomes in wounds I hat to buy 2
