after removing the rotted exhaust and drilling a 2" access hole in the side of my CRD Liberty's wheel well, I was able to use a Kobalt 3/8" bolt extractor to remove the rusty metric bolt that holds the CPS in.  :D  tomorrow I'll try replacing the CPS and then work on the new exhaust.

looks like a standard torx bolt.  it spent a decade in the salt and had nothing left of the splines. :fistshake1:  I intend to take it to lowes and see what exists in a stainless variety.  :D

Congratulations on getting the stubborn bold out.  With torx, I have found that sometimes you can pound a 1 size larger torx bit into the hole and use it to drive out the bolt.
