eaglescout526
Couple things, welcome! I highly would recommend against putting your phone number out there and 9 more posts and the classified will open up to you. Also a little info about your Comanche will go a long way here besides being the 4.0L. Model year will help with making sure you get the right cluster. If your tach isn’t working, something in that circuit isn’t working or the tach is adjusted wrong for the engine.
terryt
Point well taken and thank you 1990 comanche 2wd standard cab i have looked all over for a cluster and no luck i can't find any literature on the wiring except the green wire that i chased under the hood and it seems fine everything works perfect except the tach

eaglescout526
Weird that a tach just ups and fails. A replacement cluster for you would have to be the one that has a speedo cable attachment. Butttttt that being said, it’s pretty easy to keep your cluster and swap out the tach with another one. Given that the “new” one works. Luckily that black gauge face style was used from 88-96 in the Cherokees and should be a direct swap with no issue from the engine management with yours being Renix and later being HO Someone correct me if the HO tach won’t work in a Renix cluster housing This being said, try searching under ‘Cherokee XJ’, that way you will get better results vs searching under Comanche. Eagle_SX4
If you search on car-part.com you can see all the junkyards that have inventoried their yards. If you search for a Cherokee instrument cluster you will get more results also try searching for speedometer of tachometer that might also help with the search. You would want one from 87-90. 87MJTIM
Look at the back of the cluster for the flexible circuit board. Look for break in any of the contacts.
