Well, the above worked until the OBD1 PCM was driven enough for it to ‘learn’…

 

It developed an obnoxious stumble at idle every 6 seconds though ran/ drove flawlessly. (My guess is the late model canister required a purge solenoid, and I didn’t want to deal with it as the PCM triggers a ground that turns it on and off.) Couldn’t live with the stumble so back to the drawing board. I used the original charcoal canister mounted to the rear valance panel with vacuum lines up to the engine bay, and a cut-up front inner fender liner as a splash shield around it. Perfect fit and runs right.
