I think my 25 year old fan clutch was getting weak, so I ordered and installed a Crown unit, USA made and lower profile than most. Holy cow, that thing is loud, my truck sounds like one of the Jeeps in MASH, even over the cowl intake and mud tires. It doesn't matter if the truck is hot or cold or if it's 38 degrees out. I cannot live with this and it's got to be costing power and MPG. I suppose I'll just try the Murray from O'Reilly's at this point? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I put one that looks similar to the O'Reilly one on my XJ, but I don't remember the brand, I bought it at a local parts store in Ely NV. It works as expected.
