Jdde
Working on switching to an open cooling system. Radiator needed to be replaced, so I purchased the Spectra CU1193 radiator. I was under the impression this would be a direct swap including my old auxiliary fan switch. My old switch is larger and does not fit in the radiator. What are my options? Is there a different fan switch that will fit in this location?
pizzaman09
My truck has dealer installed AC. Instead of swapping the radiator with one that had a port for the fan, the dealership spliced a Tee fitting into the lower radiator hose that the fan switch threaded directly into. It's an option if you want to use that radiator and your current fan switch.
Ωhm
Any idea as to what temperature that small Radiator Fan Switch closes at?
Gojira94
This is your radiator, and it doesn't fit the plugged hole circled in red? My rig had none of this, I bought essentially the same rad and SMP TS258 (or AutoZone SW594) fits fine. I thought it was cool that at some point they'd started making rads with the older closed system fan switch provision.

I believe the radiator was an m18 thread and the sensor m22. I was under the impression that sensor port was only used on the renix era vehicles, so not sure why the manufacturer would make this change. Everything I read online including the photos on the Amazon reviews showed that oem sensor fitting correctly. I assume they made a change or sent out a bad batch with the wrong threaded insert in the plastic. I ended up getting a different radiator from auto zone. Had the same 1193 part number and it fit just fine without issue.
