schardein Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Maybe this has been covered before, but I was searching for parts at the JY and came across these clips by accident. They look very similar to the Renix relay cover clips, but were off a 1986 Ford F250 (the time era is the same). I believe they were retaining the lower dash bezel in place, but it was already disassembled when I found them. The lower tab is shorter overall, but the important measurement to the retainer lip looks the same. Unfortunately I don't have a Renix Jeep to test them on. Jeep part on the left, Ford on the right.
eaglescout526 Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Yes it has been covered. They are reproduced too for the ford guys.

eaglescout526 Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Hmmm, I don’t recall when they were brought up if anyone tried them
Pete M Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 I still have yet to find any in the junkyards to try.
schardein Posted July 31, 2023 Author Posted July 31, 2023 I have one that is free to a good home (a good home being someone who can verify if it works)
Pete M Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 well, they most definitely fit and lock, but not especially tightly. not sure if it's indicative of them all or just my one sample piece.

Cool, thanks for the test fit. I thought the sample was in good shape, at least as good as used original Jeep clips. Considering the Ford one lived its live inside the cab, versus the Jeep one living under the hood, it would make sense.
Pete M Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 I imagine a thin washer cut from felt would make them perfect. I'd never turn down one I found in a yard, but I also would rather keep hunting for a used Jeep one than pay out the nose for a new Ford one.
