So I'm working on a school project and I remembered something that I never mentioned here. Two days before I left for school, when I should have been packing, I had to clear a couple of dead branches at home. When I turned the tractor off because we had company (actually was Grandpa Jim's, who I inherited the tractor from, daughter and grandson), the key switch shorted out and caught fire. Thankfully no damage was done, but I did end up spending the afternoon repairing the wiring and replacing the key switch.

that's legit scary!

Oh yeah, it got my attention. Glad it was an easy fix with no real damage.

Got a hat to go along with the tractor. This will probably replace my American Motors hat as my day to day hat. The AMC hat is nice, but after 2.5 years, it’s showing its age.

Here's the only pics I have of my 550, these are from the guy who i bought it from. We had a diesel 550 that was lost in a barn fire. My brother restored the super 77 but the 550-D got too hot to fix.

My lil cousin sent these photos in to OH and had a feature in the magazine.

Y'all didn't think I was still around did ya... :brows:

You chose the correct shade of green :D. Here's my brother's Oliver after he restored it. It is a great hunk of machinery.

Nice, That looks like a 66 with a wide front end. Family pass-down?

I've recently gotten into IH Cubs. I found a nice Low Boy 154 I'm gonna use to mow some property thats semi rough, but too narrow for a bush hog, and too many slightly steep terraces for a zero turn.

We’ve got a friend that collects those Cubs. They are a very neat piece.

Close! It's an 88. My brother actually received it as a gift from a nearby farmer who needed help recovering some very stuck tractors from his property. It was the worst of the bunch, but he restored it to be the best of the bunch. It's a thing of beauty, joy forever. :L:

Dad had to use it to move his 6.0L around for his truck project. It hasn’t run in over a month and fired right up with a little jump.

The Floyd County Museum in Iowa got all of the information when the Oliver shut down. For $25 plus shipping, you can get a packed with the build card, which is basically the build sheet, a explanation of the build card, an options sheet, and a certificate of ownership with the model, serial number, engine number, build date, ship date, and where it was shipped to for each tractor.

Dad’s plow truck is down right now because it’s getting some front end work and some leaks fixed. Naturally, that means that the largest snowstorm of the year had to happen. Oliver to the rescue!

No, that’s not a snow blade. No, it did not do well. Yes, it was very cold. Yes, Dad did have a couple of sketchy times where he hit ice patches and had zero control. Almost skewered the shop with the loader due to an ice patch. Nobody and nothing got hurt though, which is all that matters.
