Cruise control won’t hold speed.

Truthfully, I was only talking about how the CC Clutch SW would vent the SERVO, no more than that. But now that you mention it, make sure your CC Clutch SW is adjusted properly. I would think once the CC Clutch SW is engaged that would totally shut down CC and CC would have to be SET again. Try your jumper wire idea.

Jumper wire didn’t fix it. Putting more vacuum to the servo didn’t fix it, putting less vacuum to the servo didn’t fix it. I even took the ground off the servo and it still didn’t fix it (cruise did still work, maybe something wrong there?) but I’m probably just going to get a different servo and see what happens. It’s the only thing I can think of being truly faulty here cause it’s getting good vac, consistent vac, brake pedal isn’t bleeding vac back, 2 different control modules didn’t do anything, and I know the speed sensor is most likely functional given how it will try to hold a constant speed, just it can’t meter itself right so it slows way down then floors it to catch back up, just to immediately pull all throttle out and it slows way down again.

I didn’t think it would be this much of a hassle

It holds vac. Granted I have to blow into it vs suck on it to tell, but it holds vac, yes

I'm pretty sure that will only test to the check valve, not the reservoir.

Either way, I’ve tried 2 different reservoirs to no avail. Unlike the climate control it won’t have any vacuum at the servo after like a minute or so after you shut it off, indicating to me that it probably has some sort of internal leak, given how the vac line is brand new and has been leak tested multiple times, and the other vac bubble didn’t help.

To answer this topic: I replaced the servo (which was so graciously sourced from @eaglescout526) and it fixed it, so it must be some internal servo failure.

Not to hijack your thread but I just had cruise installed and mine works great going down the road like that. My problem is if I go up a hill I lose like 10mph. It’s like it doesn’t hold. Do you have that issue at all?

I didn’t, it would hold speed just fine going up or down hill (probably cause it’s a full throttle & no throttle situation)

Maybe it’s the sensitivity adjustment? If it’s not sensitive enough it might not be engaging enough to hold it.

I was wondering about the sensitivity setting on the module. Mine was set to factory specs which is all the way clockwise I think. How is yours set?

Yk I couldn’t tell you where exactly it’s set. Does yours have a manual or an automatic transmission? Might be a difference in settings between the two.

I have an auto 4.0. I’m not sure either. My biggest question is, it’s set all the way clockwise from the factory, what happens if it start turning it counter clockwise. Guess I could try it and see what happens. I guess I just assumed all the way clockwise was as sensitive as it got.

clockwise from the factory,

Actually if it’s a kit from me, I probably did that. I set all the modules to the FSM specs as the minimum for cruise control to operate. Honestly, I don’t want to spend several hours and gallons of gas to set each module I have. I usually said something in the instructions that you’d have to adjust the pots accordingly.

Can’t blame you there brother. I’m just thrilled it’s working. I actually just got 19mpg running my cruise on my commute.
