Peanut_butter_mj
I have an 86 Comanche 4x4 automatic 4 cylinder. I was wondering how much lift I could do without cutting or anything crazy. My pickup is my daily driver I don’t drive on the highway much roads around me are fairly hilly. Just looking for an idea of how much lift to do. Was thinking 3” or under? I don’t take my truck wheelin or anything just trying to keep it looking nice and “cool”. Thanks.
DirtyComanche
Any amount of lift has ramifications to how the suspension and the rest of the truck works. 3" is going to require a bunch of new parts in order to be made to drive decently. Perhaps you just want to replace worn stock components to restore the original ride height and quality?
jpnjake
Here’s my truck with sagged 3” lift springs and a 3/4” lift puck to equal out to about 3” in the front and metric ton springs that are about 5-6” in the back now This is all with 31” tires And on a SWB where yours is a LWB

jpnjake
Also to the OP, I went with adjustable lower control arms that are slightly lengthened, and I still have to do my tracbar, either drill new hole, or adjustable one.
Pete M
you can do a 2" puck up front, chevy drop shackles in the rear and not have to replace any other parts. an alignment is recommended after any changes in height.

Pete M
11 minutes ago, Armyvet25 said: how much will that pull the front axle left without getting an adjustable trac bar? almost no lateral movement from 0-2" of lift.

Here’s 3” on my black truck with no trac bar, it’s less noticeable because I have wheels that don’t stick out. And I know, it’s extremely dirty…

I was thinking of doing a Rusty’s 2 inch they don’t have a kit directly but the rear I found shackles and shock for the rear so it’s fairly easy. At least it should be.
