comochingas
Hey everyone I'm looking for the part number for the oil filter connector? Don't know the actual name for this.. I was doing a oil change and when taking off the oil filter the piece that connects to the adapter came with it. Later realizing that it had cross threaded and it is no longer functional. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
Tex06
I would visit a junkyard and pull one. No idea what that would be called.

cruiser54
Make it easy. CRUISER'S MOSTLY RENIX TIPS RENIX OIL FILTER TO SAE FILTER JANUARY 3, 2016 CRUISER54 9 COMMENTS Tired of having a poor selection of oil filters for your Renix Jeep? Limited availabilty a pain for you? 20mm threads? We don’t need mumblemeter threads on our oil filters. Here’s a simple mod that allows you to use the very popular SAE threaded oil filters which are more readily available. The old standard 3/4″ SAE thread. You can purchase a new oil filter nipple from the dealer for under $10 and never be bothered again. Part number 53007563AB. It’s the one on the left. Or, grab one off a 91 and later XJ at the junkyard. Be forewarned though. You need a 7/8 wrench to remove a Renix nipple, but a 15/16 wrench for the later style. And just in case you need to replace your oil filter adapter o-rings, here’s a handy guide. schardein
Since you are replacing the connector (what the factory parts manual calls it), you might just get the complete oil filter adapter and replace the o-rings at the same time, as Cruiser suggests. The o-rings are a common failure point on the 4.0, and it's cheap insurance to replace them since you are in there. A quick look at the parts manual shows the SAE connector was used on the 2.5, 4.0, 5.2, and 5.9 Jeep engines in the 91-93 year range, so you have several sources to search for.
