70barracuda
I need more fuel for my ls. Don't really want to run a cell and most in line pumps don't like siphon feed. Rather than mess mine up with trying to get something to work I'd like to buy a new sender and use that. Are these legit? https://raybuck.com/product/1986-1992-jeep-grand-wagoneer-gas-tank-sending-unit/ Also if anyone has any experience with fitting a different pump on these senders I'd love to hear it. Big Dan
That's a newly produced MTS fuel sender. There are a couple threads, on here, about them. They work. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
MiNi Beast
Do you require a higher rate pump? 🤔

I never took it that high with the ax15 so I only figured it out the PA trip
MiNi Beast
Whats the pressure rating for the factory ls setup? After messing with my unit there i couldnt see why you couldnt fab a bigger pump to it.. be just a matter of having the right pressure figured then go from there. Also i could still see a fuel cell being mounted in factory location and perhaps might be the better option for your setup.

The jeep pump works great and achieves that but I think it's running out of LPH in the upper RPMs. The engine leans out when really getting on the throttle and it feels like it just hits a wall. I haven't pushed it because I don't want to lean it out bad. I ordered the new MTS sender for $90 of ebay and I'm thinking I could probably fit a walboro 255 or similar in the spot. It has the overall same shape as the factory pump.
MiNi Beast
Right on. Take some fab pics and keep us updated. Then perhaps you could try a burnout again.

Consider something like this- https://www.jegs.com/i/FITech-Fuel-Injection/546/50004/10002/-1 What I will likely do is use a 12gal cell in the bed, use the existing stock pump to keep the cell replenished, this gains me additional volume and opens the door to a variety of pump choices. Either way, neither of us will get out cheaply. I've not decided entirely what I will do about fuel until the time comes but I've looked around in the past and those who went the cheap route...frame mounted, external pumps, have nothing but headaches. If you want frame mounted pump you will be in the $800 neighborhood for one that works (with regulator)........or at least one you don't have to replace every three months and one which won't leave you stranded. Yeah the walboro 255 is probably what I am going with. I would like to keep the stock tank for now. I got a new MTS sender and it seems like the 255 should fit fine. I priced out a holley external with filters and your $800 estimate is definitely on point. Problem is most externals don't like siphon style fuel systems, so the tank would need to be modified and at that point fuel cell it is. So for now I will do the stock stuff with a walboro and see how it goes
