Manual window regulator fix

So just replaced my stripped window regulator to a "working perfectly" manual regulator off eBay and it's worse than mine was. Won't pick the window up from any position. Atleast mine worked till about 1/4 inch of glass at the bottom. 

 

Anyway, trying to find a good manual one seems hard as all hell. New power can be had for like $45. Any chance the worm gear can be swapped from the new electric to my manual? Or any other fixes?

Interesting question, following. I replaced mine with a good used one with zero problem.

How'd you end up sorting this out. Looking for manual regulators and seems like everything new is electric. Little nervous 'bout pick'n up a used one with stripped worm gear, and that 'cash for clunkers' idea is really hurting finding used parts where I live.

I never did find out if the electric worm gear is the same. But you can take apart the manual regulator and swap parts. The channel where it rides is just crimped together. Just carefully bend it and you can slide the whole worm gear out. I had 3 different bad ones and made 1 good regulator out of it.
