jdog
So you just swapped a ax15 into your automatic truck but didn't get the manual column? someone tried attempted to remove your comanche from your possession but couldn't figure out your kill switch and all that you can find are auto columns? well here is a lengthy write up ( with pictures of course) of how you can remove the shift lock out from that auto column. (not so fun part, I claim no responsibility if you screw it up, you are doing this at your own risk. I am only showing you a way to remove the interlock and nothing else.) OK Here we go. step one: remove the column from the truck. ( lots of write ups on how to remove the column) step two: remove steering wheel step three: remove the lock plate cover step four: remove the lock plate using the lock plate removal tool Step five: remove the turn signal cam Step?? (takes off shoe) 7: remove ignition cylinder step 8: remove upper bearing( becareful these things break) step 8: remove 3 t-30 torx bolts step 9: remove sleeve, remove turn signal switch and high beam cam step 10: tilt column all the way up and remove square plug using a Philips head screwdriver step 11: remove spring behind plug step 12: remove two plugs?? on side of column step 14: remove tilt assembly step 15: remove shaft step 16: remove 4 bolts and lower collar step 17: remove nut plate step 18: pull up on last collar step 19: remove rods(pull) step 20: remove detent step 21: reassemble reverse order First one i did it took me a couple hours, this one around a hour

CaptainPatchy
I just saw this today, but I'm SO glad someone did this since I'm working on swapping an AX15 in my auto truck! So the whole point of this is just to remove that little white detent in those pictures? That's all that stops you from being able to remove the key? That and the rods that make it work?
