One piece front windows with the bigger rubber trim like on the Grand Cherokees. Ac and one piece rear window. Quieter cab. A user friendlier location for the spare tire. A richer looking dash. Same great exterior look. And indestructible tail lights and bumpers. A faster start from zero. That would be pretty sweet.
neohic
I’m going to be greedy here and list a couple. The first being a unicorn for me and the second to appease my lust for goofy factory AMC stuff. 1.) 1990 with the Eliminator package in Colorado red. I’d go with a late ‘90 so I could get the older style Eliminator stripes, factory 4x4, and an AX15. ...yes, I know the grill is upside down but for a quick google search it’s a beautiful example. 2.) 1986 base model equipped with a 2.5/AX5/AMC20/4x4. It’d have a white exterior, black flares, turbines, roll bar, and the ‘86 only giant orange 4x4 graphics. Also for ‘86 is the “old man pants” light blue interior. I’ll have that with a bench seat, please. ... yes, I understand that this ‘86 shows headrests and we all know that the early bench seats didn’t have headrests. Again... quick google search. I love them both except for blue interior. I HATE blue interior. Good choices otherwise.

Is the early Eliminator package signicantly more desirable or do you just prefer it over the later one? Interestingly, my very early 1991 has the old style eliminator striping but with the eliminator lettering at the back of the bed.

Personal preference. 1990 Eliminators is the sweet spot for me due to the AX15, four wheel drive was finally an option from the factory, the C101 connector was gone, and it was still produced before Chrysler really dug in their heels where you couldn’t get a number of options in the Comanche.
