You could try to repair it.  Use electrolysis to clean the rust and then solder in some new thin sheet to fix the crack.

Yeah that's what I was going to try to do if I can't find another one. Just wire wheel it down and weld it back together

I would be very hesitant to use a power tool or welder on it.  I'm assuming that's extremely thin so the wire wheel could eat through it or catch it and break it more.  Welder would probably just melt it (I'm assuming it's thin like the XJ/MJ headlight retainer), I'd try soldering it personally.

All you need for electrolysis is a bucket, baking soda, water, and a battery charger.  It works very well and is no effort on your part.  Also only strips the rust off so all the good metal stays.  No chance of damaging it further.

Yeah ill have to try that. I also will try to solder it because it is very thin.

Welcome to my world. Trying to do the same. Rusted Out Lights.

Yep. Knew they'd be a little rusty but never noticed the rot till I took them off. Which Jesus that was a hour and a half thing just to get them off 😂

Damn. That took a while. I know the housings for mine are kinda gone and the reflectors can be saved. I tried using a parts sears fog lamp and despite the housing being very very close, the screw holes for the retainer do not line up.

Yeah my housings are nice and the reflectors are fine there just going to need a coating of reflecting paint but its basically just the retainers that are bad

Interested in mine for parts? I only bought them cause I couldn't find another M 750 lens for chunk until a week after I bought the set. The retainers are in fine shape and just need a slight de-rust.

Yeah I wouldn't mind the retainers as long as you don't want to much for them.
